Landstill is really a beautiful thing.  Removal, counters, card-drawing, and little men that tap for mana.

While I am semipowered, I find that this deck could easily function without it and would do very well in a budget/unpowered (read: scrub) metagame.

I do think this decklist does need some tuning.  I built it only with cards I own, and therefore it is inevitably lacking some.  My meta is all scrub aggro, with some monoblue control.

Mana (27)
4 Flooded Strand
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Pearl
1 Library of Alexandria
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
3 Faerie Conclave
4 Volcanic Island
4 Tundra
2 Mishra's Factory
2 Island

Removal A-plenty (14)
4 Nevinyrral's Disk
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Flametongue Kavu
3 Fire/Ice

Card Drawing (9)
4 Standstill
4 Brainstorm
1 Fact or Fiction

Cantrip (3)
2 Decree of Justice
1 Time Walk

Counters (7)
4 Force of Will
3 Mana Drain

I want to add 2 or 3 Misdirections to the deck, as they do seem to rock aggro.  Some of the removal probably should get cut, but it is simply so good in the scrub meta.

I only own 3 Mana drain:(

Thanks for your help!

ahhh yes, landstill does own the scrub metagame.

draw-go owns scrub metagame too but landstill does a better job at it.

i played fish in a scrub metagame before, then i switched to landstill because my little flying men couldn't answer avatar of hope/serra/pristine/luminous/etc angels that didn't get countered.

my suggestion would be to go with UW or UR, just to be a bit more consistent in mana. Swords to plowshare in your scrub metagame isn't as useful as the kavu IMO. I don't think on the spot instant removal is as important in the metagame you describe. You could take out the swords and decrees for misdirections, more fire/ice, more kavu. Or you could play UW and play wrath of gods and swords in addition to disk.

Flametongue Kavu is bad.  The point of landstill is to not have permanents on the board, and the defeats it.  That is way too strong on the removal.  With 4 disks, 4 swords and fire/ice you should be able to draw into them with the standstills.  Red is not a necessary splash.  I have found 4 plows, and 4 disks to be enough removal for aggro.  THen on your sb you can bring in the moat, and maze of ith if you are that worired about aggro.  Red elemental blast is good, but with just u/w you can run mana leak, so it is another counter.  It's not worth the red, to screw around with the mana base.
