I have recently been toying with a U/R burn deck, that honestly has just owned many different decks in the current meta, such as Tog/FCG/TnT/and Fish.  I have yet to test it vs Slaver or Landstill, but will get back with results as soon as I find some people to play on apprentice.  Now, the deck pretty much started as landstill, but then I decided to add more burn, alot more burn, and before I knew it, I had a U/R sligh deck more or less, sans the critters.  The deck runs beautifuly, and uses the best 2 colors (currently) blue and red, giving you access to madd SB tech.  The deck can win with the manlands mind you, but usually its the Burn the finishes the game.  Also, I built the deck to run spells of all mana counts, so that a Chalice for 1 or 2 isn't necessarily gg, yes a chalice for 2 hurts a lot, but is not gg.  Anyway, without further ado, the decklist. (sorry I am typing this in a hurry as I am needing to go to class soon)

No REB or BEB as I think these other cards work just as well vs the decks I need them to.  The burn is plenty enough for Welder/Workers or Mages.  In the case of an Angel or a load of artifacts early game, I just go for the disk.  Disk is some good.  Yes, the deck looks old school, bolts?  Disks?  Energy Flux?  Merchant Scroll?  Mystical Tutor?  But trust me, it works, and it works mad well.

When at the Hadley mox tourney the other day someone mentioned a U/R burn-esque deck. Some thoughts were tossed around and I figured I'd post them here as well.

Frantic search needs to be here IMO. It needs to be in ALOT more decks. You get to untap three lands! This means you get to use the burn spells you just drew instead of waiting a turn. Increases hand quality while still leaving mana open. I think this needs to be here, even if its just digging for that last bolt to kill your opponent.

Intuition? You're not running DA. I don't see this as a really good card right now. Maybe you could explain?

This is very close to Landstill, simply with more burn spells IMO. I know that burn is counter-productive with a standstill, but as soon as your opponetn breaks it, you just cast all the damage in one turn at their face - not too hard if you've been building up mana.

I would add another lightning bolt. Maybe a game finisher as well (w/e you think up). Looks interesting.

lavamancer owns fcg? u dont have stifle, how do you stop the incinerators? lavamancer only owns fcg if fcg gets a slow start.

why do you call this u/r burn? looks to me like u/r landstill with 3 psiblasts.

Hmmm, vaild points.  First off I run the Intuitions because I do not run Standstill, I run the AK engine, and having 2 Intuitions doesn't hurt as I can get burn with the 2nd one, or 3 Disks, or 3 Drains, etc.  There are a lot of 3-4 ofs in this deck.  As for frantic search, I would much rather have the 2 Tutors, 2 Intuitions, and the 3 Draw 7's.  Frantic search is only good if you don't have to chuck the good cards you just drew, which will happen more than not.  True after I cast a draw 7 I am down a whole 3 mana, but I think I can be fine.  And yes, Lavamancer owns FCG because Incinerator can't do damage when he has no Goblins in play, remember on top of the Lavamancers I have 10 burn spells including 4 Fire/Ice.  All you have to do is burn the first few goblins then just start frying them with the wizard one at a time after that.  Also, I would like to add the Tinker/Jar combo, as Tinker can also get a Disk out, but I don't know what to drop.  And yes 4 bolts would be nice, but in the current meta, Fire/ICe is better, and since I can only make one of them a 4 of, it will be that.
