hello all.  im new here.  ive been creating cards for some time now so i'd like to think i have some skill.  im not too sure if i understand the Master Thread thing you guys have going here, so im going to post a card and hope you will point me in the right direction.  thanks and here it is.

Burning Secrets
RB
Sorcery
Target opponent may reveal any number of cards from his or her hand. Choose one of those cards. That player discards that card. For each card in that player’s hand that was not revealed this way, this deals 2 damage to that opponent.

Current Wording

Burning Secrets
RB
Sorcery
Target opponent may reveal any number of cards from his or her hand. Choose one of those cards. That player discards that card. For each card not revealed this way, Burning Secrets deals 2 damage to that player.

I like the idea but I'm not sure if there's an ideal cost for this card. I think this is better than Coercion, although I'm not really sure how much better. For reference:

Coercion
{2}{B}
Sorcery

Target opponent reveals his or her hand. Choose a card from it. That player discards that card.

This has a converted mana cost of 1 less, but has 2 colours in the mana cost. Furthermore, this allows the opponent to reveal less than his or her entire hand, but there's a drawback for doing so. I'm tempted to suggest you up the cost to {1}{B}{R}, but I'm not sure that's necessary. I suppose this gets my seal of approval. I can't really find anything grossly wrong with the card and, it being kind of late I'm probably in no condition to nitpick.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

I thought all those arguments were leading up to a "too weak" conclusion!

It's Coercion for BR, and they have a way to get out of it. Seems more than fair to me, because Coercion wasn't good.

I like it, and I think the casting cost of BR is fine. I think you can shorten the text a little:

"Target opponent may reveal any number of cards from his or her hand. Choose one of those cards. That player discards that card. For each card not revealed this way, Burning Secrets deals 2 damage to that player."

Nice card.

the problem with your wording, Marco, is that there are still plenty of "cards" that are not revealed by the opponent.  for example, are the cards in that player's library, your library, your hand, etc. "revealed this way?"  no.  but they are cards nonetheless.  if you do not specify that it only counts the nonrevealed cards in the opponent's hand then it would most likely be an instant kill since Burning Secrets does not allow the opponent to reveal every card in the game.  thanks for the suggestion though.  i think the text length is fine.

No, actually Marco's ruling is correct--it does the same thing as your wording, but it follows the proper templating.

The card looks good to me. Correct costing and in flavour for the colours.
