1) How much would a duress cost with a Trinisphere and a Sphere of Resistance out in play?

2) How much would a demonic tutor cost with a Trinisphere and a Sphere of Resistance out in play?

3) If I play a wild mongrel, paying 3 mana, and a trinisphere and a chalice of the void for 3 is out, it's not coutnered, correct?

4) A gorilla shaman will always destroy a Chalice of the Void, no matter what they paid, for 1 mana correct? X's in a cards cost are considering 0 when determining CC correct?

Thanks all.

1. SoR makes it cost {1}{B}, then Trinisphere sees that you've paid less than three mana, so it makes it {2}{B}.
2. SoR makes it cost {2}{B}, then Trinisphere looks at it, sees that you're paying three mana, and leaves it at {2}{B}.
3. Wild Mongrel's converted mana cost is ALWAYS two. The amount of mana you pay for a spell is not the CMC, and so a Chalice with three counters on it can never counter a Mongrel.
4. An X in the CMC of a card is always zero except when it's on the stack. So yes, all Chalices in play have CMC of zero, regardless of what X was or whether any other modifiers such as Trinisphere or Helm of Awakening made you pay more or less.

1.  {B}{2}.  After SoR is applied, you still have a spell that costs less than three, so you must pay three due to Trinisphere.

2.  {B}{2}.  Sphere gives it {1} colorless.  It costs three now, so Trinisphere doesn't do anything.

3.  No.  Wild Mongrel has a converted mana cost of 2.

4.  X in the mana cost is 0 everywhere except for the stack.  While in play, the converted mana cost of a Chalice is always 0.
