Obfuscate:
To make so confused or opaque as to be difficult to perceive or understand: “A great effort was made... to obscure or obfuscate the truth” (Robert Conquest).   <dictionary.com>

The object of this deck challenge is to post a Type 1-legal deck that is extremely difficult to figure out how it wins.  For the sake of having a common enemy, we'll say that we're goldfishing against a deck comprised of 75 forests.  Your deck can be pre-arranged by you in any order, but must be able to beat the aforementioned forest deck.

So, please disregard the common post-rules and feel free to post a decklist with no explanation in this thread...that's the point.  (also, please don't torture us with a decklist with no real way to win:  that's just wrong)

For a warm-up, here's one to try and figure out:

1 Tolarian Academy
1 Mishra's Workshop
1 Gilded Lotus
4 Force of Will
2 Misdirection
4 Impulse
4 Opt
4 Force Spike
4 Peek
4 Brainstorm
4 Flash of Insight
4 Fabricate
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Merchant Scroll
1 Armistice
3 Aladdin's Lamp
1 Opalescence
1 Channel
1 Meekstone
1 Weakstone
1 Loxodon Peacekeeper
3 Kobolds of Kher Keep
1 Vesuvian Doppleganger
1 Fork
1 Mindslaver
1 Upwelling
1 Transcendence

(I believe there are actually 2 ways to win with the above deck, but only 1 of them is really fun)

Cast the Lich and then go on Loxodon Peacekeeper beats? Smile

And some obscure Mindslaver/Armstice/Transcendence way?

Very neat idea.

You're warm...

Actually, to be totally honest, I threw the Lich in there as a distraction...it has nothing to do w/ the kill.  I just realized that you can actually cast it using the Upwelling and Gilded Lotus, so there may be some way to use that thing.

I'll edit the list to take out the Nefarious Lich to make things clearer.

<original decklist edited>

Oh, and by the way, unless I'm way off, there is no way to cast Peacekeeper without first having cast the Meekstone, meaning you'll only get in 1 hit with the fella, and then the "Peacekeeper beats" will come to an end.

Thorme: I hate you. My company will hate you. I now can't get this out of my head. So, while avoiding the boss passing around, let me think Smile .

Okay, let me write down what each card does, since I don't know some (like Armistice Smile ).

1 Tolarian Academy
1 Mishra's Workshop
1 Gilded Lotus
1 Armistice (2W; 3WW: Draw a card and opponent gains 3 life)
3 Aladdin's Lamp (artifact. unusable)
1 Opalescence (2WW; all enchantments are creatures)
1 Channel (GG; life -> mana)
1 Meekstone (1; power 3+ don't untap)
1 Weakstone (4; -1/-0 to all attackers)
1 Loxodon Peacekeeper (1W; 4/4. Upkeep, lowest life gainst control)
3 Kobolds of Kher Keep (0; 0/1)
1 Vesuvian Doppleganger (3UU)
1 Fork (RR)
1 Mindslaver (6)
1 Upwelling (3G, mana pools don't empty)
1 Transcendence (3WWW, gain 2 life for each lost, lose 20+, don't lose 0-)

Okay.

Turn 1) Workshop, Meekstone
Turn 2) Tolarian, Weakstone
Turn 3) Gilded Lotus
Turn 4) Upwelling

At this point, infinite mana of any color.

Cast Peacekeeper, Cast Kobold, Cast Vesuvan.

1) Vesuvan is Peacekeeper. Attack.
2) Next turn, Vesuvan is Kobold. Untap
3) Next turn, Go to 1

This is one way. I think Smile.

Well done Razvan...you found a kill.

Of course, it wasn't the fun kill.   Very Happy

You're right about Turns 1 - 4.  Then:

Cast Peacekeeper
Cast Vesuvian

these both go to opponent since you took 2 burn on turn 1.  Doesn't matter if they swing at you, w/ meekstone out they won't untap.

Cast Opalescence
Cast Transcendence (now a 6/6 critter which still has its abilities)
Cast Mindslaver
Cast Armistice
use Armistice until opponent has 20 or more life
Use Mindlsaver
During opponent's turn, chose to have the doppleganger become a copy of your transcendence.  Opponent dies from being at 20 or more.  (and upwelling keeps them from being able to mana burn to get out of it).

I guess I should have made the Kobolds something else so you couldn't untap Vesuvian.   One thing I've learned from this challenge, once you come up w/ a core of about 15 cards to use as your kill, it is really tough to fill out the remainder of the deck w/ stuff that can't help kill the opponent, but still is tricky enough to make people think about using it.
