I checked by the Wizards of the Coast website to check out what the new 9E vote was going to be, and I stumbled upon this article,
Design 102. I think it is a great resource (along with
Design 101) that serves as an important guide to creating balanced cards, and although it restates some points that are obvious, it is a great tool for newer members trying to create some of their own cards.
Hopefully this will be a valuable "checklist" for card creation.
