I'll be representing along with all of Team Mercy that I can drag down. I assume the standard $15 entry fee?

Awesome Doug - I can hardly wait.  I hope you can drag down Roland - tell him I extended a personal invitation, and anyone else you can drag down.

Sadly, Ro-Chang is going to be leaving for Taiwan before the tourney. The upside is bootleg DVDs and fake Rolexes when he gets back!

Also, Jon Patch has to work that night, a major bummer. So it looks like I'll be holding up the banner for Team Mercy unless I can convince Nate, Craig and Mike to come, which won't be a hard sell..

Seriously folks, if you're in range of a tank of gas, make the trip to Columbus for this tourney. They're the best ones I've been to and you get to meet lots of celebrities like me. And I hear some people know who Steve is or something.

Or you could be a real juggernaut and come from Denver like Clown of Tresserhorn did!

Prize is a mox or $200.  Come and represent!  If you want to get in some good practice for Type One with some strong competition - come and play!

This will be the last Columbus tournament before Origins - so if you want good practice for Origins, and if you live in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania, and you want some practice, you really should come!

It's a good thing this tourney doesn't, in the strictest sense, "count", because I just took SuperGro out of the Decks to Beat at SCG.

Oh, and lololololololololol @ RG Beatz. Smmenny, what happened to your iron grip over the metagame's deck selection process? ;)

A full quarter of the field was Fish.  Not joking.  No wonder that R/G beatz pwned - it played multiple Fish decks in the swiss.  It was the first deck in three months to get top 8 without Force of Wills.

It is important to explain that Joe and Travis didn't play out thier finals match.

This was the standings after the swiss:

1.  Me
2.  John Knight (RG Beatz)
3.  Justin Schister (with Fish)
4.  Joe Bushman - Tog
5. Craig Seaborn - Fish
6. Travis Hopkins - Super Gro
7. Jason Stinnet - Drain Slaver
8.  Kevin Cron - Workshop Slaver

It is important to note that I sent in to Wompy the wrong results.  Joe and Travis were in the finals but it was 10:30 before the finals were going to begin - and given that the quarter finals match between me and kevin was over 2 hours, they didn't feel like playing Sad.  Therefore Joe Bushman, by calculation of standings in the Swiss won the tournament.  I told Wompy that Travis did - but I was looking at round 4 standings Sad.

I should mention that this was a very draw heavy tournament.   Most matches went to 3 games and in the 2nd round, there were eight players that had draws - all non intentional.  This felt more like Chess than Magic.

The field had 2 Drain Slavers, 2 Dragon, 2 Draw7, 1 Workshop Slaver, nearly half a dozen fish, 2 Togs, 1 GAT, and a really nice selection of other decks.

Congrats to joe and travis for winning a very difficult tournament!

As usual, my Drain Slaver list (3rd place) is short by 1 Island for anyone that noticed it didn't add up.
