This is probably the same fat bastard that was trying to sell these "sanded" power cards at the last Waterbury tournament. I can't believe people fall for this crap. The cards are CE that are strategically sanded to remove the gold border and the "CE" text from the back.

His lousy "disclaimer" only goes to show he knows the cards are fake.

Arrghh! This gets me so angry   Mad

The way these cards have been sanded makes it obvious that they are most likely CE, but if this cannot be proven, then how can these not be considered tourney legal? Just curious.

I guess that just depends where the burden of proof lies

Seriously, I understand the seller may not have marked these well enough, but aren't the buyers being pretty stupid here too?

Here's a stupid question but is actual sandpaper used to sand these cards down?

That might depend if these are tourney legal or not.

And we know where the burden of proof lies, don't we? Smile

Well, I am sure it is with me, but I am not sure what I am trying to prove!

Does anyone actually know where it lies?  If a card like that is challenged (at a DCI sanctioned tourney) what is the process for determining if it is legal?

Obviousness to the extreme.

It's even more blatant when they're right in front of you.

If it's that blatant when you see them, then these aren't going to pass in tournament play very easily.

Plus, if a card is this badly sanded, you can most likely 'feel' it even in a sleeve, which would make it illegal by default. And even if not, shit like this is always at the judges discretion. If you don't agree with it, you can appeal the decision with the DCI.

Well that auction is over the Twister went for $76 and the Walk was like $165 he made some bank if those were CE! If not then there are one less of the power card in any reasonable condition and ours are worth that much more...

No, actually, since these are one MORE of each of the two power cards in this auction (since they were 'upgraded'  from non-playable CE to possibly playable undetectable fakes) our cards are now worth somewhat less. Sane demand + more supply = lower price Smile
