I just realized R&D is actually thinking ahead.  Sundering Titan is awesome in the supposedly 5 color heavy 5th dawn environment.  How cool.

He's probably not just playing T2... but drafting. SINNER!

On a more serious note, R&D has been doing this "planning" shit for a long time. I mean, they made those threshold cards and then cards that, like, added or subtracted cards from the graveyard! How good! Or even, gold cards and then cards that rewarded playing gold cards! WOW! :p

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Wizards for removing Counterspell from the Type II mix in order to allow new sets to contain interesting and powerful counterspells like

Vex

and

Fold Into Aether

(I will let them off for Condescend)

Can you imagine the powerhouse that Monoblue Type II would be if it could use a counterspell base of Counterspell, Vex, Fold Into Aether and Condescend?!!!

Oh, and I like all this colour pie sorting then making artifacts that do it all anyway that anyone can use.

To be fair it doesn't matter to Type I (we like artifacts) but it doesn't make a lot of sense to be so anal about Red and Green getting card drawing them give all colours artifacts that cost 1 that let any colour draw cards.

As far as Type I goes, R&D are making lots of powerful interesting and innovative cards but Type II looks far more confused.

I, for one, was impressed (I'm not being sarcastic) that Wizards came out and said they screwed up with Skullclamp. We all mistakes and admitting to them is important in making sure they don't happen again. Funnily enough in Type I Skullclamp is quite possibly a good thing as it gives weenie swarms (i.e. currently uncompetitive) decks a major boost.

You are quite possibly correct although the availability of Skullclamp undoubtedly makes them better. I think it is wrong, however to write off weenie swarms merely because they are currently uncompetitive. Mindslaver and Tog can have a hard time versus a well-constructed weenie deck, Keeper cannot hope to get out an angel in time, all of the time and losing to combo was given for most aggro decks at any time in the history of Type I. I expect to see some sort of aggro decks cropping up in areas relatively free of combo as few good decks currently run serious weenie countermeasures.
That being said, I would bet good money that weenie swarms will not make Tier 1, whatever that is.

(Remember that the mighty Jungle Lion from Portal is coming!!)

P.S. I will be saddened if any of the above is taken as meaning I think weenies are better than the current top decks!!
