I feel a little awkward posting this before our soon-to-come tournament hasn't even passed yet, but I couldn't resist.
These tournaments are WICKED AWESOME.
The Gathering's Magic Summer Slam Tournaments (See? Even got the cheesy yet catchy title going.)
There will be three tournaments: June 26th, July 31st, and August 28th (the last Saturdays of each month).
There will be three of these Type 1 5-Proxy Tournaments. Prizes, you ask?
Prizes: 1st Prize: $500.00 2nd Prize: $250.00 3rd-4th Prize: $75.00 5th-8th Prize: $25.00 9th Prize: 1,000 yen (No joke.)
Entry fee: $20.00 Starting time: 3:00 PM
There will be a random door prize given out each round, and yes, there is still free pizza.
Please note: We will require at least 50 people to have the prize structure remain as it will be posted. If we get less, the prizes will be adjusted accordingly, but if we don't get a reasonable amount of people for the first one, the second two won't even occur. Please, guys, these tournaments rule, show up!
The tournament will be held here: The Gathering 1600 Falmouth Road (Route 28) Centerville, MA 02632-3163
If you'd like any more information, you can call the store at (508) 771-7448, or you can contact me via PM or Instant Message me at RobtheSwordsman (AIM).
Thanks, and I hope to see you there.

First off, I'd like to apologize for the double-post.
Secondly, I'd like to apologize for the delay.
The prizes are up, guys.
These tournaments should be awesome, I hope to see you there.
Thank you very much.

wow, that's a lot of $$. Particularly when you consider that ebay isn’t taking a cut like they would be if the prizes were lotus or moxen.

How much of that prize is guarantied? There’s a lotus event that/this weekend with guarantied prize. I really don’t want to drive for hours and fight through NY traffic to find that I’m playing for 50 bucks that will barely cover my gas + tolls. If the 500 cash is for sure then it makes sense to think about driving to CC. If first and 2nd are for sure then CC is clearly the right choice, but if neither is a sure thing then its going to have to be CT.
