That gives me an idea - would it be possible/easy for someone to make a program where you input a decklist and it generates a text file of all the Oracle wordings for every card in your deck? That would be awesome.

Matt, that's about a 10 minute job for a programmer, hardly more.

Indeed, I have, although it is currently down. I'll have it back up and updated in under 24 hours. It'll be at http://jeek.net/oracle/

I was about to offer to do this myself, so jeek, if you have any problems, or need any help, don't hesitate to contact me. And it's not quite 10 minutes if you want it to work online. And make it all pretty.

I think I'll build a Humility/Opalescence/Replenish deck for next year's Origins...and maybe I'll work Illusionary Mask and Worldgorger Dragon in there, too.

Opalescence and Humility are no longer dependent, since they are applied in separate layers. Opalescence is always applied first, since it is in the "type" changing layer.

I KNOW it's possible, I was just trying to, in a classy way, ask someone to do it. Also, I kind of assumed it would be Jeek, but didn't want to impose. It's called 'tact'.

As Shay's opponent in the debockle which is referred to as round 2 in the Midnight tourney, I am still astonished by the actions of the judge. We had called the judge over to ask him a proceedural question in the "what if..." form. Then he did some fact gathering and after leaving to consult a rules book, another judge or something???, he came back declaring our warnings. When Rich and I approached him, appealing to the head judge, he informed us that he was trying to "teach us a lesson" rather than give a game loss or the like. To answer the question as to what lesson: He told us we need to pay more attention in the game. I would have accepted, nay welcomed, a caution to do so, but I felt the Warning was too far. Especially because that ruling was for "Failure to agree on the reality of the game state". Rich in no way EVER disagreed with any claims made or implied by the question of wether or not I had made a land drop. And, by the way, getting ready to Gush to find an answer for the Force of Will on stack, I would have ended up in a great disadvantage if we had held to the "no more lands for the rest of the game" ruling I have always been told by judges that Type I events are of the easiest to run. They say that we know the rules better than the other formats. For The Atog Lord and Frimble to be playing and have a question about the proceedures in the game, that says to me this probably doesn't come up too often. But then to take punitive action declaring disagreement when there wasn't any is down right wrong, in my eyes. All judging aside, I completely enjoyed meeting some great players like The Atog Lord and Matrix... It was all worth it for the good games with them - no matter how tainted the one game was... Travis

It's apalling to me. I cannot find any justification for that judge's actions.

Also in this round, Kerz lost a game to Hatred. Apparently Hatred is the anti Team 187 tech. Clown of Tresserhorn lost to it the other week too.

... Question for the judges reading (others feel free to chime in as well): what is the best way to approach challenging a bad ruling from a judge? If you have a document (Oracle text or ruling summary) that is directly on point should you present it to a judge before he has a chance to make an error or see if the judge makes a good ruling without it before doing so? ...Leo My thoughts: If you're going to carry an orcale text, make sure to note the date it was printed (I know, I know, most changes we'll become aware of immediately, but it does matter). Personally, I'd offer the Oracle text as soon as the judge comes over. Something along the lines of, "I have an Orcale text from [date] with me if you'd like to use it." This allows the judge to decline in favor of their text which may be newer, or to read yours. I would avoid using it after a ruling is given, as it will probably make someone feel stupid. The Soup

Don't forget to put Verdalken Orrery into that Replenish deck. It's apalling to me. I cannot find any justification for that judge's actions. Not actually an justification, just the most probable reason: he was probably without sleep and on site for far to long, getting ticked of by yet another minor question. Bad business, but this obviously will happen from time to time.

You'll make baby Jebus cry. You could call it JUDGE!!!.dec, but if you really did play that i would probably yell a name from the mana drain instead of judge, becauce not being able to realize that time walk doesnt target is awful. I am sure that GenCon will be better at least (it cant get worse).

You could call it JUDGE!!!.dec, but if you really did play that i would probably yell a name from the mana drain instead of judge. I like how people steal conversations that Kowal and I had MONTHS ago: SummenSaugen: What I really want to do is build a deck with Day of the Dragons, Opalescence, Humility, and Pandemonium. Jacob 0rlove: I don't think that works SummenSaugen: Doesn't matter Jacob 0rlove: lol SummenSaugen: I'd still confuse the hell out of everyone SummenSaugen: instead of yelling judge, I'd raise a hand and yell "ORLOVE!" SummenSaugen: You'd get so tired Jacob 0rlove: hehe SummenSaugen: It's part of my conspiracy to make certain I'm lazier than you. Jacob 0rlove: I'd be like "judge, DQ this man for skulduggery and hogwash"

Did anyone else notice that SIX of the games from the 2nd event ended by resolving Yawg win? I think will must have loved you that day. Excellent report, congrats with the super duress, minds eye, citadel tech . It certainly seemed to do the trick. I think that judge may have been high on something. @ The Atog Lord: In one game u mentioned force of willing a turn one mox diamond to try to screw a glimmervoid. I realize it is too late now, but did your opponent discard a land card AS AN ADDITIONAL COST to play the diamond, as the oracle text reads? If so, it's not as bad a play because you did not lose card advantage in countering the diamond.

Wow, I just looked at the Oracle text of Mox Diamond. You're right. I really didn't know it read like that. I had thought it was, "if this would come into play...". My opponent did not discard a land.
But either way, my countering the Mox was bad. Since my opponent lead with Glimmervoid, it was obvious that he was hoping that I would counter the Mox.
As for Yawgmoth's Will, yes, it is one of the key cards in the deck. Many of the games I played involved setting up a game-ending Will.
