How to read the table:
Match the deck# on the left with the deck # on top. The #s on the right of that deck correspond to how many points that deck received versus the deck on top. (Append as necessary. The first digits are missing to make the table more clear)

No changes to the banned list from here, do people agree? A generally good deck won it, with a well-metagamed deck coming second - there was a generally strong showing of lumbercrack amongst other classics. As ever, there seems to be nothing approaching a dominant deck, and nothing remotely close to a viable mise-prize entry (please stop entering these unless they are genuinely good efforts for it!) now that the shahrazad issue has been sorted out.

The massive amount of decks is both a blessing and a curse, in a way, as it means that metagaming is made harder due to the size of the tournament! It means that the best deck will almost automatically do well in the tournament, but equally the tournament's surprise packages can sometimes be worse off in this kind of tournament, when otherwise it may well have done quite well! Let's see another one this size, though!

3CB #37 has started, so post any questions about the tournament on that thread. Any more general questions should go here.

W00t 2nd Place out of 31, not too bad! Also, I don't understand why I just don't flat out beat #14. He plays hesitation, I play pauper's cage to kill hestitation, play war beast next turn and race him. OMG, there are two hesitation decks, if I am right, that would give me 6 extra points, enough to WIN THE TOURNAMENT!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!

I should also win a game against "I against I" when I am playing first:

Legend:
* indicates it is my turn
^ indicates it is his turn

*t1: warbeast
^t1: scav folk
*t2: attack, pauper (17, 20)
^t2: sac killing warbeast, (15, 19)
^t3: thallid (13, 19)
^t4: counter, attack (pump) (11, 17)
^t5: counter, attack (9, 15)
^t6: make saproling, attack (7, 13)
^t7: counter, attack (5, 10)
^t8: counter, attack (3, 7)
^t9: make saproling, attack (1, 4)
^t10: he loses during his upkeep

alternately:

*t1: warbeast
^t1: scav folk
*t2: attack, pauper (17, 20)
^t2: thallid, attack (15, 19)
*t3: attack (12, 19)
^t3: counter, attack, sac killing warbeast (10, 17)
^t4: counter, attack (pump) (8, 15)
^t5: make saproling, attack (6, 13)
^t6: counter, attack (4, 10)
^t7: counter, attack (2, 7)
^t8: dies during upkeep

alternately:

*t1: warbeast
^t1: scav folk
*t2: attack, pauper (17, 20)
^t2: thallid, attack (15, 19)
*t3: attack (12, 19)
^t3: counter, sac killing pauper's cage, attack  (12, 18)
*t4: attack, (9, 18)
^t4: counter, attack (9, 16)
*t5: attack, (6, 16)
^t5: make saproling, attack (6, 14)
*t6: attack, block (6, 14)
^t6: counter, attack (6, 12)
*t7: attack (3, 12)
^t7: counter, attack (3, 10)
*t8: attack (0, 10)

If I play first, I can eke out a win vs. his deck.

Well, now that I've shown those who were unsure that Skullcage definitely doesn't need to be banned, I'll make a comeback and win #37.  I promise.

I can't believe my Ferropede deck did so well and that it got eleven places higher than the other Ferropede deck.  I think Ferropede could be a candidate for banning because it really hurts storage lands(I believe that's one of the possible reasons for a card to be banned in 3CB).

I think you're right on all counts. Congratulations!

The first post has now been altered to reflect the change in winners.

Not yet, no. Not even close so far - I mean, it's been legal for only one tournament! True, it beats storageland.dec, but so do a lot of other things. It's not done an isochron scepter, so it's still ok for now.

Also, to clarify (for goober's good more than anything else), Earthcraft targets BASIC lands. Pretty good score for a 2CB deck though...

I don't think anything needs banning quite yet, although we'll have to wait and see until the next tournament  Twisted Evil . I would have thought Trinisphere may have to go, as it can go at least 3-3 with most decks. But it tends to lose to storageland.dec, which loses to a deck like Lumbercrack, which loses to 3sphere...everything's balanced at the moment. The one card I have reservations about on principle is Rishadan Port, as it appears to be a card that can potentially create a lock like Trinisphere or Sphere of Resistance, but at the same time it can lock down storage lands or depletion lands - they can continue to produce mana, but they can't ever use any of it...

As a slight aside, Alfred - why use Phyrexian War Beast over Steel Golem? Isn't that just better?

That's a good point, the drawback is less severe than warbeast's but not by much. BUT, caged beast sounds really cool, and I came in first anyway.
