I don't know what people have heard yet about the new set, so I'll be the first to bring the smallest bit of information...
As the title reads, the new (block) set is called Champions of Kamigawa. Thus, being a new block, we get to say bye bye to our previous type 2 block and start up a new fresh one
(Although I'm not a fan of type 2, this looks like it could be interesting).
With the focus of the new set on creatures (new combat ability as a new game mechanic; namely 'bushido'), and more legends than Legends had to offer, this set is giving the possibility of vast improvement in creature playability in type 1 (from the new set of course
).
The only known card, that I happen to have 20 of, from the new set is as follows:

T: Prevent the next 1 damage that would be dealt to target creature or player this turn.
T: Prevent all damage that would be dealt to target legendary creature this turn.
This creature looks somewhat jank, and useless, but atleast it gives us an idea of the shift towards legends/legendary permanents once again, and who knows, some of those old cards dealing with 'legends/legendary permanents' may become useful
