I don't run Aquamoeba because it is terrible. You're paying 1U for a 1/3 body that only becomes Fire/Ice - able when you try to use it as a legitimate aggro creature. Werebear swings for 4 and generates mana in a pinch. Mongoose swings for 3 and is nearly impossible to kill if you play smart. Aquamoeba swings for 3 and functions as a Madness outlet, but can't do one without doing the other. At best, it trades with a Juggernaut. At worst, it gets 2 for 1'ed off Fire/Ice or Triskelion.

Careful Study lets you keep mana light hands, sets up Rootwallas nicely, and gives you quick, reliable DAs in the early game. There's no reason not to run it.
