I've been using Mesmeric Orbs lately, and these artifacts make you "mill" yourself each time you untap a permanent.

Usually, play is pretty straightforward.

But during the Untap step, say you untap 4 permanents.  Do you mill yourself at the beginning of upkeep, or during the actual untap step?

I belive the effect is shifted over the to beginning of upkeep, and "mill yourself for 4" goes on the stack.

If so, would it then be possible to use a Goblin Welder to weld something out of the yard in response to Mill Effects? (I play with Gaea's Blessings, so... Very Happy )

the ability triggers during untap, but nobody gets priority then and triggers are put on the stack the next time a player would get priority, so that'll be the upkeep step

If I have to "Mill for 4" during upkeep, and I have a Welder in play, AND there is something Juicy in the graveyard (say, Welding Jar, Platinum Angel or Mesmeric Orb #4!), could I weld out a stupid Artifact Land for one of those before I mill myself?  Sometimes I mill a Gaea's Blessing, and my yard gets emptied of it's goodies.

Yes, you can respond to the mill trigger and play the Welder ability.

Or, even if you reveal a Blessing, you can respond to the Blessing trigger even.

One last detail I need sorted out.  If I have to mill myself for 10, and Gaea's blessing is say, card #3 revealed, do I finish milling myself until 10 cards are put in the graveyard (ie, all at once) or do I start shuffling the Gaea's Blessing and graveyard back into the library after card #3 (Blessing), and THEN continue to mill cards 4 through 10?

I belive that (arbitrarily large millings aside), that I shuffle as soon as Gaea's Blessing hits the graveyard from the library.

Since you are dealing with several different triggers that tell you to "mill 1 card" you'll have to resolve the Blessing trigger first before getting to the rest of milling.
