Since there is no judge of any sort in my area I get bombarded by questions about rulings on a regular basis since I am the longest time player (playing since the Dark).   Which of course makes me a lousy person to ask since I got lost after they did away with interupts. lol   I try and keep up but occationally someone gets me with one that just makes me scratch my head.   Here's what came up this month.  Anyone is welcome to explain them.  I'll assume the people here know what the cards do.

1.   Endless whispers and Blistering Firecat.   Which end of turn effect stays.   ahhh too many end of turn effects  Why do people build decks with this stuff in it?

2.  Blood moon and Price of progress.   I always assumed Blood moon turned non-basics into basic mountains.  Then I noticed somewhere on this forum someone talking about them being non-basic mountains and the price would still hit them for however many non-basics they had even under the moon.  Which is correct?

Edit:  Nv on the price question.  I need to learn how to read further down more often.  Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the help as usual

1. There will never be more than one end of turn effect everytime. If Blistering Firecat is in play end of turn, he will be sacrificed to its own ability, and return into play under the opponent's control during the next end of turn. And if Endless Whispers triggers, well, that means Blistering Firecat is in a graveyard.

Assuming you control both cards :

Turn 1 (you)
Play Blistering Firecat.
EOT sacrifice Firecat.

Turn 2 (opp)
EOT return Firecat under opponent's control

Turn 3 (you)
EOT sacrifice opponent's Firecat

Turn 4 (opp)
EOT return Firecat into your control

Turn 5 (you)
We are back to turn 1.

Things obviously change if Firecat gets killed somewhen out of the end phase.

2. Blood Moon turns non basic lands into non basic Mountains. Mountains are "Basic Land - Mountain", non basics are "Land - Mountain". Blood Moon does not give the super-type "basic".

The ruling Toad is referring to is found here.

As an end of turn trigger happens only once each turn, remember stifle is a neat trick to mess around a bit with this. I should add that it is even better to mess around with some(one elses) girlfriend. Be sure to use a woodcloaker though, cuzz STD's ain't cool.
