Hi, I'm Joe and I live in the suburbs of Wilmington, Delaware. There are monthly type 1 tournies at the local gameshop, but the owner has 0 interest in them except for the profits he makes.

Basically, I need suggestions on how to make these tournaments more of a true type 1 metagame. The decks played by most are Sui, Pox, unpowered, unworkshoped artifact decks and type 2 decks. As a newb, I'm trying to get better at the game, and going to a 50 person tournament, and only facing 20 non-type 2 decks is getting really old.

Just so you know, the tournaments are free and the only prize is 10$ store credit.

Should there be proxies, entry fee/better prizes. How did places like neutral ground and waterbury start out?

BTW, sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
