Fearing winning the prize for worst.deckname.ever, I decided not to post one. I apologize for my vagueness, but my creativity was lacking.

So anyways, I've been playing one deck for the last few months or so and was looking to start to play with something else, if, for nothing else, merely casual games.

Thinking for a bit, I thought I might try to re-create the first ever coherent idea that I had as a Magic player. It was a mono-green combo deck that attacked with lands for the win. My original list, though, had like Wooden Spheres and I think Desert Twisters because I was having problems with local Worship decks. Man, that was awful.

Bad Green Combo

4 Living Lands
4 Overrun
4 Vitalize

4 Fyndhorn Elves
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Xantid Swarm
4 Wall of Blossoms

3 Howling Mine
2 Sylvan Library
1 Regrowth

2 Naturalize

1 Fastbond

17 Forest
4 Windswept Heath
1 Black Lotus

Once you have a combination of six Forests / Elves and Living Lands in play, you cast Overrun, then Vitalize, and hopefully attack with lethal damage for the win.

I had to sell my Emerald, but I own the Lotus, so I figured I'd throw it in.

Another option that I haven't explored too much would be a "get-the-land-in-to-play-quick" route, i. e. Explosive Vegetation (I think this card is good; it's a shame that no one is playing it in T2, and even more of a shame that it'll be rotating out soon) or Rampant Growth (probably not that, but cards such as those), mana-producing artifacts (Sol Ring, Mana Crypt), and probably no Elves.

EDIT:

Bad Green Combo (version two)

4 Overrun
4 Vitalize
4 Living Lands

4 Xantid Swarm
4 Wall of Blossoms

4 Explosive Vegetation
4 New Frontiers
1 Fastbond

4 Howling Mine
2 Sylvan Library
1 Regrowth

1 Black Lotus
1 Mana Crypt
1 Mana Vault
1 Sol Ring
4 Windswept Heath
16 Forest

Thank you very much.

Wouldn't New Frontiers/Rude Awakening be a better way to do it?

I know this won't happen in a tournament, but if my opponent has Chaos Orb in his hand while I'm controlling his turn from a Mindslaver, who flips the card if I force him to play it and activate it?

New Frontiers is a neat card that would fit well into the second version of the deck.

Rude Awakening, however, I don't like. While it's two key cards in one, making it very valuable, it only lasts for one turn, is a total of eight to cast (to get the desired effect from it, anyway), and your lands only become 2/2s. Even if you were to attack with all of your lands at that point and all of them were to get through, you'd only be dealing 16 damage.

I prefer the 4/4 trampling Forests, but the fact that Rude Awakening is one card that does two important things makes it at least considerable.

Thanks, though.

how about wood elves in the blossoms slot? same turn to cast thins the deck the way you want it to be and also allows for a critter that can attack with the overrun. another thing to consider is the card concordant crossroads/ new frontiers if you have both out and living lands it allows first turn attacks. other wise it will take another turn.
if you play in the north eastern us find me sometime and i will bust out the elves.

Wood Elves is kind of a neat idea, but I'm not sure if I need more of what that does. Also, for reference, Wood Elves is {2}{G} to cast while Wall of Blossoms is {1}{G}. Just thought I'd let you know.

If I'm not mistaken, you work for Andy Stokinger, so I musta' met you before. I saw him a lot when I was back east, and I just moved out west and saw him again at Worlds, so I might have seen you there.

I'll put up the provisional second version of the deck that I was talking about before in the main post.

Is that a better way to do this?

Thank you.
