Equipped creature has first strike.
Prevent all damage that would be dealt by equipped creature. For each 1 damage prevented this way, other creatures you control get +1/+0 until end of turn.

Whenever equipped creature attacks, it gets -X/-0 and other attacking creatures get +X/+X until end of turn. X is the equipped creature's power.

I find the prospect of this on an Orcish Artillery highly amusing (see also Hasran Ogress and the savage Crypt Rats/Warmonger/Thrashing Wumpus).
An interesting idea and although too weak for tournament play (you'd need 3 creatures attacking to even out, assuming 2/2s and substituting a Bonesplitter for the Sword 8 damage vs 8 damage) it is fine in casual (very Marton Stromgald).
You could change it to combat damage for flavour reasons, if you do lower that equip cost as this would be really weak. Personally I like the casual wackiness this card can create.

Slight adjustment; Dandan had a point, it should only work on combat damage. For the sake of a shorter wording, I made it only trigger on attacking. Added a toughness boost to compensate, and some flavour text inspired by Ephraim (thanks).

That's definitely an improvement over what I posted. I'd hoped somebody could do better than mine. I liked the idea conveyed by the original flavour text, but I thought this deserved something more serious.
