Planar Way
{3}{U}
Sorcery

Up to three target creatures are unblockable this turn.

***

Just sort of a blue card to mirror red's [card]Panic Attack[/card]. It costs a little bit more, because making creatures unblockable is typically much better than making creatures unable to block. I'm pretty sure this is an appropriate cost, although it's difficult to compare it to anything else. I suppose I might say look at [card]Panic Attack[/card] and [card]Stun[/card], then make the same comparison between this and [card]Infiltrate[/card]. It's possible that this would ruin limited as a common, but it's almost certainly a fair uncommon.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

This is a pretty bad falter effect, but I guess that's par for the course for blue.

It is a bad Falter effect, but then again, Panic Attack, the current state of the art for block-prevention combat tricks, is also a bad Falter effect. I figured that this is better in most situations than Panic Attack, so it should cost a little bit more. On the other hand, I could make it {2}{U} or even {1}{U} and push for it to be an uncommon (Not really much pushing, since I'm the one assigning blue cards to the set). I guess it just depends on how much we want to push blue combat effects. If we want this sort of theme to be important for the set, I can lower the cost and make this card more powerful. It might be a bit strong in limited, but generally, it's more of a themely, tone-setting card than a game breaking one.

I'm of the opinion that blue combat tricks shouldn't be focused on until the Aztec set.  They just seem to make a good deal more sense there.

Unfortunately, we're desperately in need of blue spells, right now. They definitely can't be draw or library manipulation and they probably shouldn't be counterspells of any sort. That leaves bounce and miscellaneous other blue effects. There's that Skyrocket card on the second page that I ought to bump back to the top, but we're still running short.

Okay, I'm going to have this cost {2}{U}, for no reason in particular and I'm going to start the 24-hour clock.
