Spiraling Flux
{3}{U}
Sorcery

Return target creature and each creature that shares a color with it to its owner's hand.

***

It's sort of like [card]Wash Out[/card], another bounce card that I really like. However, in exchange for targetting only creatures, it gets the benefit of being able to bounce more than one colour at a time (if the targetted creature is multi-coloured.)

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

Current Wording:

Chromatophobia
{3}{U}
Sorcery

Return target creature and each creature that shares a color with it to its owner's hand.

Discordant color;
Visual cacophony
Supplanted by gray.

Isn't this a little too similar to wash out? I would estimate that in 95% of the games the difference doesn't matter.

You're probably right that it will do the same thing in many games. However, Wash Out gets enchantments, this does not. This can get multiple colours, Wash Out cannot. Wash Out does not target, which is applicable from time to time (Intervene, Protection from ~, or even a Lace can drastically affect the result of this spell.)

ok, I guess it is sufficiently different IF it gets a cool/applicable flavor (aztec maybe?) - so, a challenge for you? Wink

I don't think it absolutely requires a ton of flavour. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of flavour, but I think that this card's mechanics ooze flavour. It's bounce combined with a strong concern for colour -- both solidly blue aspects. Sure, it's similar to Wash Out, but also consider that it's paying homage to that card, which I really like. I'm not going to commit this to the Aztec set, at any rate, since it will probably be a good fit somewhere in the current set.

If there are no other mechanical aplications, shall we work on the flavour then? Spiraling Flux is a very weak name, that's certain. There's also a lot of room for flavour text.

Let's see...what are the possibilities?

Chromatophobia
Apartheid

Flavour text to follow, I suppose, once we've settled on a name.

Don't mess with me, man. I'll change "color" to "colour" too! *sigh* Fine, American spellings all the way through.
