Amazing Grace 2WW Creature - Angel
Flying
When Amazing Grace comes into play, double target opponent's life total.
She believes in the salvation of all, but the destruction of the wicked.
7/7
Amazing Grace 2WW
Legendary Creature - Angel
Flying
When Amazing Grace comes into play, target opponent gains 20 life.
She believes in the salvation of all, but the destruction of the wicked.
7/7
Exalted Angels are nice, but sometimes you need a white flier with a little more oomph, especially in multiplayer games. The CC might need slight adjusting, but otherwise I think this is pretty fair.

I know this won't happen in a tournament, but if my opponent has Chaos Orb in his hand while I'm controlling his turn from a Mindslaver, who flips the card if I force him to play it and activate it?

IMHO, the opponent should gain a fixed amount of life, because doubling a low life total does next to nothing. Considering it's a 7/7 flying body that costs 4, you win in 6 turns, max. By the time you cast this, the life of your oppponent should have decreased, so it's more likely a 4 turns clock, just like Negator. If the opponent gains, lets say 20 life points, it becomes fairer as it game him 2-3 extra turns to deal with such a huge body.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Maybe something like "When this CIP, target opponent gains 15 life"? I think that's a good number as it's a 2-turn clock extra...as long as you can deal damage with something else as well, that is.
Very cool idea though - love the name. Maybe Legendary?

This seems a little undercosted, although it would be amazing in multiplayer. If you want to keep this a 7/7 for 2WW, then your opponent really has to gain at least 20 life.

I like this card a lot, although I agree with some earlier posters that it should be Legendary and give the opponent a set amount of life (21?). EDIT: oh, oh, and what if this had Protection from Creatures or something? And if it was invincible. But really, ProCreatures would be flavourful, if a bit silly. Perhaps if it was Legendary. At any rate, I hate Tradewind Rider

I think you should change it to "When Amazing Grace comes into play, target opponent's life total becomes 30."

Wooooo False Cure! Meh, the combo with False Cure is about as good as Power Artifact/Grim Monolith. It sucks because one of the cards is garbage on its own

I like the card, but I don't really like the name. Is the angel's name Grace? I can see why she's amazing... (I thought we poo-poo'd naming cards after songs?)

False Cure IS pretty bad on its own... what about Sulfuric Vortex? I really want to like this card but I don't, and I don't know why.

It's better than Grim/Power because that only gets you mana, you need a third card to actually kill with. This is a two-card combo.
Also, the "one of them is crap" argument is the worst one ever. BOTH of the cards in Illusions/Donate were crap, and that was one of the most dominant decks ever.

Illusions and Donate were also both Blue cards, and had a total colored mana count of {U}. False Cure/Amazing Grace mean you need {B}{W}{W} all in the same turn (Trix couls play Illusions one turn and Donate the next). And not only do you need {W}, but you're forced to run white in a deck whose combo pieces can't even take advantage of Enlightened Tutor (mainly notable in 1.5). Maybe Ms. Grace could put herself up for {W}{W}{W} or something. Even {W}{W}{W}.

The point is that even if Trix is better, the fact that they're comparable should set off alarm bells.

If she's going to be legendary, she needs a more concrete name than 'Amazing Grace,' especially if she's an angel. It makes it sound like her name is Grace, and she's amazing. If you're trying to personify Amazing Grace (like in the song), which seems like the original intent, spirit or incarnation would make a better creature type. All the other legendary angels have real names: Akroma, Radiant, Reya Dawnbringer, and Selenia. If Ms. Grace wants to be the in company of those, she's going to need a more personable name.
I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but her name needs to sound feminine. You might want to attach the subtitle "Angel of Grace" to her name as well.
