I used to post often on TMD on the older system but rarely do now; as I find TMD restricts my priveledges and whatnot to post in certain forms. I'm too lazy to 'apply' for dumb posting priveledges, fuck that. The whole reason I'm posting this is because people keep bashing sui black. Blah blah blah, its dead, blah blah blah. Believe what you will. Any GOOD magic player knows that the viability of a deck depends COMPLETELY upon the metagame/environment that you play it in. Currently, in TORONTO, yes, toronto ontario canada, I have played 2 recent BIG TURNOUT tournaments and top 8'd both times with sui black. You're probably like 'whaaaa?! howw?!?!?!' but if you know HOW to build the deck, and play it, and sb correctly, then you CAN do very well. Again, this is tried and tested so don't bitch about it being a n00b post or whatever the mod's feel is necessary. I'm willing to offer deck advice but the main thing is just running null rods in place of flesh reavers, maindecking 3-4 edicts. SB tech is always exclusive to certain environments. Anyhow, I don't feel like posting my list online because people often netdeck shit and steal ideas instead of trying to understand the reasoning behind it, making way for shitty versions of a deck they just don't understand. So alas, I'll give you some of my results with sui.
First off, it doesn't die to any deck out there. IN FACT, it's only bad matchups right now are OATH and STAX. It can beat stax, and so far goes 50/50 with oath. When against oath, just SB in planar void and edicts. Make sure you make SB room.
For stax, get the planar void down early and make use of massive discard. Unless they resolve a smokestack, you're in good standing. I use cuombajj witches as sideboard tech as well.
Giveme thoughts, opinions, but please no bashing idiots. Thanks.
