So I took my Highlasnder to a large tournament and discovered how easy it is to screw yourself when you do not test or prepare. Sleep is also helpful...
I arrive at 10:00m AM and it is -22 Celcius outside. I need a coffee badly so I pop across the street to a line up extending the length of the cafe and say 'shit'. I won't have time to register. So I head back cold sans cafe.
I sign up and boast that i will playing highlander. One should be careful when one boasts. I see Wolfman - an oldtime Canadian National team player in the days of Paul McCabe, Gary Wise, Matt Vienneau et all when we played till the early hours. He has recently reentered the scene. We last played when I beat his 4cc with AoS and I tease him a bit. He says he is playing Stax and I say  " I bet you win today as Stax is forgiving ". He wins it all. Wish I was as good predicting for myself.

So first match up ..
Dave with Fish.
He gets going first game with an early Rod which destroys my mana base as I kept a one land hand with two artifact sources. Ouch. I do not recover on time.
Second game - wise as I am -  I have answers for Rod and keep a proper two land hand. I get out a Titan and when he blocks with a Lavamancer I animate it. Ouch to him.
Third game - turn one he fails to counter my Tinker. I ask why he did not mull without a Force but he liked the rest of his hand.
I happily take the win.

Match two ..
William with Oath.
Wm. counters everything I throw at him. I do not see an Oath or Forbiddan and thinK he is playing control.  I hard cast Pentavus. He plays Oath. i attempt to Disenchant and Seal it. He still has counters. I lose the damage race to Spirit of the Night.
I decide to jedi tricks and call him only by his full name . I gpo " Are you keeping Wm. Lee" and "is this end of turn, Wm. Lee". He laughsd and beats my as again in another race to the finish.
I never really drew enough answers to break his counter wall and he says he was a bit lucky having hand fulls of counters both games.
I say " No, Wm. Lee, you were just better today".
Round three ...
Matt  with Salvagers
Here is where the tournament is lost. Lets fast forward. I tell Matt i have to leave early so even if I win both this and the next game i will not make top four ( poor pairings now ) so lets just get this game done. Matt is a good guy and we banter back and forth and he gets tha cpombo out before my last hit with a Trisk.
Now I win game two with Titan and on to game three where I have him down to one card in hand. I am holding Necromancy and Coffin Purge. I opt to Mance thinking he is not going to topdeck a Salvagers and if he has a counter let him use it now. He topdecks Salvagers. I laugh.
I play one more match against a jank deck and win ... who cares. I rush off to work having had some fun. The deck ...

The deck is actually a lot of fun to play and quite resiliant. I plan on taking it to the next tournament and I am hoping to win with a Highlander build for bragging rights. The above list is updated as i had a Colossus over the Meloku. I need a non artifact creature to play so I am switching it out as I usually go for Titan anyway. I also added a crypt to the sideboard. I wanted to play it on Sunday but could not find it.

Rarely has Flatulence been turned to advantage, as with a Frenchman referred to as "Le Petomane," who became affluent as an effluent performer who played tunes with the gas from his rectum on the Moulin Rouge stage.
