Ray "Iamfishman" (aka Mr. Waterbury) Robillard, his girlfriend Tree and I pile in the car and head out to RI to YMG.  We sit down and get our registrations done and someone says something to the fact of, "Aw there's not that many good players here."  Ray and I look to each other and chuckle and discuss that of the 38ish people there there was a higher concentration of good players there than the previous waterbury.

I'm piloting a hybrid of Eastmans CA.  Here's the following report of the matches.  I'm witholding the deck list and some specifics for now.

RD 1 vs Jeff "Samite Healer" Anand  with "Highlander" control
Game 1 and 2 go to me.  Game 1 sees a heavy start by me and Jeff can't recover.  And game 2 I think I remember managing to win through a Damping Matrix with heavy beaters.

RD 2 Douglas with UG madness
Game 1 I end the game really quickly.  And game 2 sees me winning in my Hybrid style.

RD 3 vs Greg Kelly?  Playing Control Slaver
Game 1 I win in pure hybrid form and Greg thinks I'm playing another deck.  Game 2 crypts hurt a bit too much and he takes it, but I come back through opposing crypts again and win in game 3.

RD 4 vs the Lurch playing O-Stompy
I get a really fast start and beat him down.  Game 2 I paris to 5 and lead with a first turn Jar and get a portal lock out quick.  He was mana screwed a bit that game as well and the portal took full advantage of that fact.

4-0 (8-1-0)
RD5 vs Rich Shay playing CS
I can't ID since Rich has a draw and The Brass Man is the only other player with my record and we both got paired down.  I look back and see half of my matches are sitting at the top 4 tables and know that I can take a loss and still make top 8 so I go into the match relaxed.

Game 1 I start off strong and manage to win with hybrid tech I believe.  Rich makes comments that he's not looking forward to the next games and I side in some hate for CS.
Game 2 sees me bazaar from 1 squees to 2 squees then to 3 squees on turn 2.  With that card draw I over power the match and take the win.

RD6  I ID with The Brass Man

So final match was 5-0-1 (10-1-1)
I'm first seat and get paired with Eric (ELD)
Game 1 I win hybrid style.  And unfortunately games 2 and 3 Eric slaves me and wins when I could have next turn.  In game 3 he almost hesitated to slave me as I only had 2 cards a Bazaar and 1 squee in the yard.  Had he not I would have pulled game 3 out.

So I walk out with no prize, but I know the deck performed well and defeated 2 of 3 control slaver matches.  That's half my opponents for the day playing CS.  Sorry for holding back on the hybrid tech, many people probablly know what the changes from eastmans build are, but I'd like to hold back on posting the list till I'm sure that it's the best build.

Thaks to YMG for holding a great event.  The staff was exellent and I'd definetly make a trip back.
The players were awsome, were exellent, even MixingMike who was hanging around and not playing.
Kerzner made an appearance near the end and a number of us hit Friendlys for dinner after failing to find the Olive Garden.
Kerz being stupid for almost sliding with his car into Ray's shins. Very Happy

Grats to those who won!

Keith, if you don't want to post the decklist, that's fine, but then at least do NOT write a report either, since this is a pretty bad read due to having seriously no content at all, other than that you did well at the tournament.

I second this.  The report seemed pointless.

No humor and nothing learned from the report (That whole one sentence per game isn't helping) = Why did you even bother

I'm going to have to agree here. What's the point of the post?
