Trading on TMD; New suggestion

I really miss the trading forum.
It is with great pain that I have to trade substantial amount of my excess pimp cards with non- manadrain people. While I’m sure that these cards could find a very nice home in the collections of my TMD friends. I think that we as a community must stop this outflow of pimpness!

I know that the old trading forum was deleted for valid reasons, that we won't have any of the Bad Trading crap on this great site.


Therefore the following suggestion:

Have a Trading forum with posts, to which no replies can be made. It should only feature a link to people's MOTL post and the title of the post. In that way, trading will occur on MOTL only (and under MOTL rules). You dont have to put up with the shi*t, and the community members can still find each other easily.

Of course, Manadrain members could go straight to MOTL for trading. But with this feature I'm sure a lot more succesful trades will be completed in this way, as you have all lists at one place!

This could be implemented by having a single thread in community named "Link to your MOTL post."

While I fully understand Zherbus' reasoning behind NOT wanting it, I can't really see the harm in a thread where you list only your most urgent wants (possibly not haves even?) and lock the thread, saying that ppl can e-mail you if they have the stuff and are interested in unloading it. Or something. Whatever. I kinda miss it, too.

When you go one step further and link everything to MOTL, TMD doesn't have any way to trade through TMD. We lose the disadvantages (bad trading practices) and gain in the exchange of pimpness

I'm all for this...I def. miss trading on TMD too...In fact, it was here were I picked up my drains, Workshops, and other goodies. I see no harm in starting a trading forum for TMD members. We know each other well enough that trading shouldn't be a problem.

I strongly agree with avoiding the "bad trading" problems. Zherbus was right to get rid of the forum. However, I am very much in favor of this. I would much rather trade with TMD members - not only would my trading volume be higher, but I would be able to trade much more valuable cards with less anxiety. I think this is a good idea, but the forum would require careful moderating and restrictive rules. Hopefully something can come of this.

Personally, I think this is a great idea.  I have a short list of cards that I need and I'm tired of losing auction after auction on Ebay.  If the powers that be allow a trading thread, I would offer to be a third party in trades:

Person A and person B both send their cards to person C.  Once person C has the cards from both parties, he mails the trade through.  No one gets ripped off (provided that person C doesn't take off with the cards).  

I've done this before and would be willing to do it again for expensive trades.  Plus, I'm a cop so I'm definitly not is the stealing business.

Good to hear that more people are enthousiastic.

Hopefully Zherbus can work out a method which is acceptable to him, in terms of TMD involvement (moderated/restricted trading, no trading at all but only links to MOTL, whatever).
