Ok, well my other decklist (Clamp 4cC) has sqat on it, so might as well try another deck. Built it for a friend and would like opinions if it looks basic, good/bad, w/e. all that happy stuff,

Creatures:
3x Hypnoic Specter
3x Nantuko Shade
2x Duplicant
1x Platinum Angel

Removal/Control:
3x Hymn to Tourach
3x Duress
1x Mind Twist
3x Cranial Extraction
2x Haunting Echoes
4x Sinkhole

Draw:
2x Skeleton Scrying
3x Night's Whisper
1x Necropotence

Stuff:
2x Tendrils of Agony
4x Dark Ritual
1x Yawgmoth's Will
2x Nevinyrral's Disk

Mana:
1x Black Lotus
1x Mox Jet
3x Wasteland
1x Strip Mine
15x Swamp

Sibeboard:
4x Cabal Therapy
4x Diabolict Edict
2x Withered Wretch
2x Phyrexian Negator
3x Null Rod

Ok, on the breakdown.
Duplicant- Deals with the ever popular Darksteel Colossus/Tinker, and can just about always be used. (Akroma/Spirit of the Night/Dreadnought/Titan, etc)
Platinum Angel- Well, all the lil kiddes love her, why can't I? No reason really. Attempt at being funny?
Skeleton Scrying- Am considering on taking it out, doesn't mix with Will that well.
Duress over Therapy- My friend doesn't know the decktypes that well, so duress can give him an idea, and S/B the therapy's in if he thinks they'll be better.
Extraction- Giving them a try, see what their all about. Seem good to me.
Haunting Echoes- Slaver/Welder love, not to mention Worldgorger.
Hmmm, not too much out of line, but I'm sure it's been seen before. Think it'll work out?

Its not bad, but I don't really like the Hymns, they seem unnecessary.

I think the cards you put in are way too expensive in casting cost. Haunting Echoes? Nice sideboard card, but with the metagame you sketch: it will most definitely be a Drain target. Duplicant? You'll be long dead by the time they have one of those creatures you listed. The only reason this card is seeing play in vintage is because of it being an artifact, and Welder loves artifacts.

Tendrils of Agony? Way too conditional; you already lost your Rituals to other things.

I think the right basis is to just take a look at the old t2 mbc at the time of torment and judgement and build a t1 deck from that. No success guaranteed, but I don't think that's what you're aiming at. The deck could be able to stand against the usual aggro pretty well, and control shouldn't be too hard either. Of course, taking a beginning metagame. Please correct me if that is not the matter.

Edit: oh, and try to keep most of your spells in the lower than 3 line. Just a few cards that have a higher casting cost; you're only form of acceleration are the Rituals. You're no Control/Workshop player: you can't poop out expensive stuff like it's your job.

MBC is a fun control deck to play, but I think that I requires a more disruptive route to do much good.  You want to up your Duress count to four, and cut the Duplicant.  One more shade and Hippie would benefit you.  For reference purposes, I will note my list:

4 Hypnotic Specter
4 Nantuko Shade

2 Skeletal Scrying
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Mind Twist
1 Yawgmoth's Will
1 Yawgmoth's Bargain
1 Necropotence

4 Duress
4 Hymn to Tourach
4 Sinkhole
3 Nevinyrral's Disk
1 Drain Life

4 Dark Ritual
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Jet
1 Sol Ring
5 Wasteland/ Stripmine
16 Swamp

The best that you can hope for with MBC are extremely broken starts.  Swamp, Ritual, Duress - Hymn and if you're lucky a Hippie and a Lotus will show in that hand too.  I haven't run across too competive of a build for type 1 so I kinda scraped the idea.  It's a fun deck to play at low powered tourneys.

The whole concept with this is continual disruption until you can slaughter them with a Shade or get a strong Drain Life through.
