I just woke up from some much-needed sleep. My alarm went off, it's time to go downtown to see this girl's band play. But that's neither here nor there. What brings me to post this is the dream I just had: I dreamt I was interviewing Mark Rosewater. In the POURING RAIN. At an old card shop that is no longer there. And in the dream the card shop was at the top of a hill - a mountain really - that never existed. There was a 1.5 tournament going on and we had to stand in the back of the place, which while roofed was open-walled to the rain. He drove a black SUV.

Discuss.

I noticed your other thread where you asked for tips on diet. I'd suggest fewer magic mushrooms.

Lets study your dream

Interviewing - desire for knowledge
Maro - the face of Wizards - also unfairly had an anti-Vintage reputation
Pouring Rain - clearly sexual - any dream without sexual meaning is suspicious so that this as normal
Old card shop no longer there - the decline of Magic or possibly Vintage (the place where you bought your cards is sadly no longer there)
Mountain - hidden desire to play Sligh or possibly Goblin Welder
1.5 tournament - secret longing for pre-Legacy format - also a move away from Vintage brokenness.
Open walls - exposure to hostile/bad forces or freedom to expand? Probably the roof suggests that there is some protection from the 'bad' but you think not enough. This looks very B&R list to me.
Black SUV - Your opinion of MaRo

I think this dream is about how you can influence Wizards to develop Legacy. Either that or you fancy MaRo. Although I doubt that.

Am I Freud or what?

It means you secretly want to work for Wizards of the Coast in order to get the Legacy format rolling, but you feel it may be a mistake to turn into that direction. See, dreams turn shit around, I think. I know it seems like you were interviewing Maro, but in fact he was interviewing you. Letīs have some more traditional style dream analysis:

The pouring rain
Quote
To dream that you get wet from the rain, signifies that you will soon be cleansed from your troubles and problems. Rain also symbolizes fertility and renewal.

To see and hear rain falling, symbolizes forgiveness and grace.

To dream that you are watching the rain from a window, indicates that spiritual ideas and insights are being brought to you awareness. It may also symbolize fortune and love.

To hear the tapping of the rain on the roof, denotes spiritual ideas and blessings coming to mind. It may also suggests that you will receive much joy from your home life.

The nonexistent mountain
Quote
To see mountains in your dream, signifies many major obstacles and challenges that you have to overcome. If you are on top of the mountain, then it signifies that you have achieved and realized your goals. Alternatively, mountains denotes a higher realm of consciousness, knowledge, and spiritual truth.

To dream that you are climbing a mountain, signifies your determination and ambition.

To dream that you fall off a mountain, suggests that you are in a hurry to succeed without thoroughly thinking about your path to success. It also means that you have a tendency to give up or escape from demanding situations.

Maroīs SUV
Quote
To see a parked car in your dream, suggests that you need to turn your efforts and energies elsewhere. You may be needlessly spending your energy in a fruitless endeavor. Alternatively, a parked car my symbolize your need to stop and enjoy life. To dream that you cannot find where you parked your car, suggests that you do not know where you want to go in life.

The fact that it was black
Quote
Black symbolizes the unknown, unconscious, danger, mystery, darkness, death, mourning, hate or malice.

If the feeling in the dream is one of joy, blackness could imply hidden spirituality and divine qualities.

The no longer existing card shop in which it rained
Quote
To see an old, run-down house in your dream, represents your old beliefs, attitudes and how you used to think or feel. A situation in your current life may be bringing about those same old attitudes and feelings. Alternatively, the old house may symbolize your need to update you mode of thinking. If the house is new, then it indicates that you are entering into a new phase or new area in your life.

The interview with MaRo
Quote
To dream that you are at an interview, denotes your anxiety over being judged by others.

Dreams are weird, man. I hope this stuff helps!

If I were funnier, I'd write about your psychosexual attraction to Maro and how you desire his power. As it is, I'm not funny and I'll leave it to JP Meyer or Saucemaster to do that.

I should mention that the card shop in question never sold Magic. That was where I bought Marvel collector's cards back in like 4th-5th grade, before I ever even heard of Magic (we did try and make a game out of them though!).
