Quote
Having long eschewed netdecks in virtually any form, it would be no surprise to most to find me hard at work on a Saturday night preparing and perfecting my latest rogue creation for a power tournament. Having played a build that ran 4 Trinispheres for the last few months, the new banned/restricted announcement caught me by complete surprise. After a bit of testing, I concluded that my current deck was wholly inadequate without the power of a consistent Mishra's Workshop, Trinisphere opening. After dabbling with various builds of Salvagers, MaskNought, and Parfait Slaver, I settled on a list I had made for a friend who lacked in the deckbuilding department. The list was an aggressive 5-color Workshop build that utilized Transmute Artifact and Gilded Lotus to power out oodles of artifact goodness. He piloted it in a single tournament to an unimpressive 2-1-2. Still, even without Trinisphere, I wanted to make the deck into something more viable. Several problems lay in the way.

This deck is great. I was testing it for a few days after reading the article and I was very much happy with the way it worked for me. Workshop Aggro has been hard to build since 3-sphere is restricted, I know first hand since I was trying to build another aggro deck myself, but this one works out wonderfully.

Great article!

I also want to say that Memnarch is the MAN in this deck, I stole my opponents' entire board in testing. It was sweet.

That list is almost exactly the same as the 7/10 on crack deck ive been running for a little while now.  The idea of the deck works wonders, I had been running 4 Chalice main but I switched to the 1 trini 3 chalice version when trini got restricted (simply for the suprise value of still dropping an early 3sphere)  Your build is slightly more aggroish than what I was running however with your inclusion of the su-chi (which I like a lot actually, the deck SCREAMS slaver though, which I was running anyways in my build, and with Su-Chi would be really effective...I also ran one artifact land to work a slaver lock if need be)  Let me say too that Sundering Titan is going to be overtly powerfull for a while and is really a powerhouse. If I get time ill post a deck list later here. Nice deck though.

I was running something like this (more controllish really than yours but full of fun none the less, its rough but it works, the argument on workshop vs mana drain in a deck like this can be found elsewhere, I really am trying to run it more aggro-ish)

Mana Base: 26

4 Mishras Workshop
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Strip Mine
4 Wasteland
4 City of Brass
1 Seat of the Synod
1 Gemstone Mine
8 SoLoMoxCrypt
2 Gilded Lotus

Threats: 19

2 Sundering Titan
2 Triskelion
2 Duplicant
1 Mindslaver
4 Goblin Welder
3 Chalice of the Void
1 Trinisphere
2 Crucible of Worlds
2 Juggernaught

Other Goodies: 15

4 FoW
3 Intuition
3 Thirst for Knowledge
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
1 Tinker
1 Memory Jar

SB:

4 Red Elemental Blast
3 Tormods Crypt
3 Arcane Laboratory
1 Memnarch
1 Platinum Angel
3 Fire/Ice

Its similar to your build in a lot of ways, I have always found though that 3 gilded lotus is too much (and they make a player holding a drain salivate) That meant dropping the Memnarch from the MD.  I replaced the wiz with some more utility in the form of the extra duplicant.  I found the slaver to be very effective as well, as even a single use is game most of the time, and since I was already running Crucible and welder I figured an artifact land to make slaver go would be choice. (darksteel citadel would work great also, I just like the colorful mana)

I've been testing it a fair amount too and I can say I'm quite happy. HC Titan on turn 2 is more common then you'd expect.

That being said I'm trying to fit 1 Mindslaver into the MD. I really like it as an Intuition option.

My only complaint is that after playing Stax for so long, I'm finding it a little light on mana sources.
