Hello all

I've decided that this upcomming summer will be the last summer I ever have to have some fun. Next year, I will be going to university and volunteering at the NWPS (local police)...I will basically be a big boy with work/school/volunteering and all and I won't be able to explore Europe anytime after this summer.

Being a student right now, I'm broke and will continue to be broke for years to come. To get to Europe, I'm selling off some MTG (Collectable Card Game) cards, so getting there will not be a problem. The problem is, having a place to stay.

I plan on visiting France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, then settling in in Poland for a month.

I was wondering if any of you Euro Boys/Gals that frequent this site would be kind enough to show me around while I'm in your area, I have no idea what there is to see in those parts in the world. I'd also need a place to stay here and there for a few nights. A couch is fine, or even a cardboard box on the ground will suffice. Ofcourse I will pay all my expenses (food, etc) all I ask is a place to crash and some company from time to time to show me around. Heck, all I really need is a place to stay, you can just tell me what there is to see during the day while you go to work, and I'll go see it for myself.

I'm a very neat guy, I don't make much of a mess, and I'm Polish, so IF you can KEEP UP, drink are on me. I'm very easy to get along with.

I'm posting this MONTHS in advance just to give people a heads up, also, for people to respond with your oh so kind help for me not to have to sleep under bridges every night.

This will be a summer to remember!!

Please help me out.. Paying for hotels every night for a month costs me a lot of $$!

The places that are in bold are places I need to find a place to stay, plz help me out Smile

For Reference:

France - Bordeaux: Staying with Friend - Confirmed.
France - Around Paris: Still need a place to stay - Unconfirmed.

Depending on when you're around, if you decide to pop over to Scandinavia (not that it's on your current roster), you'd be welcome to kip over at our place in Helsinki for a few days (we could also go to Estonia for a day). I say this mostly because of your "drinks are on me" thing and yes, I intend to keep up Wink

Let me know when you know when exactly you'll be around in the Netherlands, and I'm sure I can help you out.

Helsinki is in Finland. Finland is not a part of Scandinavia. There is tons of confusion about this subject around, but it's a little surprising to see it coming from a "Finn". Scandinavia consists of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Nothing more. The term comes from "The Scandinavian peninsula" which is Norway+Sweden.

Finland is one of the Nordic countries (which is Scandinavia, Finland and Iceland) and also a part of the extended "Fenno-Scandinavia", although this collective term is rarely/never used and little known.

Thus ends this geography lesson. More information can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scandinavia

Have a nice trip, KandyKid!

Probably doesn't help too much, but I can cover you in poland.  I'll be living in Bielsko-biala then, I'm in oswiecim right now.  If you need advice on where to go/what to see/where to drink in most of malopolskie/slaskie i can help you out.

You can stay at my place for a night or two. Hamburg is located perfectly if you come from netherlands and continue to go to denmark or sweden. I'll organize a Magic Orgy with my oldschool buddies, cook Chilie con Puschkin for you and will test your "polishness" with drinking Friesengeist.

If you get sick of over-expensive Czech beer, go to Poland via Slovakia. I live about 30km from the Polish border, near the High Tatras.

I might even find some more COPs for you if that still floats your boat.

Thanks for all the offers so far guys, I'm sure more will come too Smile

Right now I'm not 100% sure when it is that I am going because my College is striking, all colleges in BC for that matter so the semester might be extended by 2 or 3 weeks. But Imma going for sure.

Anyways, once I find out the dates, I'll give EVERYONE that posts on this thread a PM.

Thanks again.

Actually, not being from here, I have made that mistake and been corrected once before, if I remember right. However, I phrased the sentence a bit wrong in my previous post, since what I was trying to insinuate was that when someone visits Europe, if they do venture north of the continent, they usually go to Sweden (I guess they think there's porn there?). Hence, if one happened to be inclined to go that far north, the idea was that it's pretty cheap to get to Helsinki from Stockholm (via the standard overnight booze cruise). I never assumed for a minute that anyone would, in their right mind, go out of their way to visit Finland Wink

Shame on TMD. The only Magic player that you stay at (Lord Titi), is from MOTL

BTW I have traded Lord Titi my Timetwister. See if he remembers that.

I may be bad, but I sure as hell count as a Magic player. I just hope KandyKid doesn't mind getting beaten by Type II monocolour highlander decks.
