Blademage Adept  {W}{W} Creature – Soldier Wizard 3/4  : Untap target equipped creature. That creature gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is Blademage Adept's power. *** I left open the possibility of creating Blademage Adept when I named Blademage Novice. At the time, I thought it might do something with +1/+1 counters, like its little brother, but I realized that the "Blademage" name really implied an interaction with equipment. This ferocious wizard can pump an attacking creature (that has some equipment attached) and leave it untapped to defend on the coming turn. |

Looks pretty good but what if the +x/+x had more to do with the equipment? Converted mana cost or something.

What happens if i equip this guy, and then pump himself up to 1000/1000? I think he needs some clause about creature other than himself =o
Yeah, you should probably fix that. Also, five mana seems like a lot for this ability--a 3/4 for 5 should really be getting into combat with stuff, not tapping to pump other creatures. Maybe 3/3 for 4? |

I will fix the self-pump interaction somehow, but I definitely don't think this can be made all that much cheaper.  {W}{W} for a 3/3 creature may be possible, but that's probably it. Although this requires equipment to be around to be useful, I think it's more versatile than Auriok Bladewarden, a card I used as a pattern in creating this. Furthermore, this would be the only permanent in existance that grants +3/+3 repeatedly without requiring you to sacrifice something. |
