So, a card made around my favorite creature of all time, phelddagriff:

Wing's of the Hippo
UGW
Enchant Creature
Enchanted Creature gets +2/+2
U: Return enchanted creature and Wing's of the Hippo to owner's hand. Target opponent may draw a card.
G: Enchanted Creature gains trample until end of turn. Target opponent gets a 1/1 Hippo token.
W: Enchanted creature gains flying. Target opponent gains two life.

Current Wording:
Pheldagriff's Embrace
UGW
Enchant Creature
Enchanted Creature gets +2/+2
U: Enchanted creature gains flying. Target opponent may draw a card.
G: Enchanted Creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn. Target opponent gets a 1/1 Hippo token.
W: Enchanted Creature gains protection from black and red until end of turn. Target opponent gains two life.

I like this but please pay attention to the forum's rules, especially the one about a current wording post.

I'm sorry, but I thought this was the current wording. I'm confused, can you explain what I did wrong?

Edit: Oh, you mean the bold faced current wording. In the past, I always put it up once I gotten some feedback. I'll put it up now.

I assume Wings is plural, and not possessive, which means you don't need the apostrophe. Otherwise, this card looks pretty neat.

I like it! (The original) Phelddagrif is one of my favourite creatures too. If WotC can make Pemmin's Aura they can make this. I think you should use the Oracle text for Phelddagrif though:

G: Enchanted creature gains trample until end of turn. Put a 1/1 green Hippo creature token into play under an opponent's control.
W: Enchanted creature gains flying until end of turn and an opponent gains 2 life.
U: Return enchanted creature and Wings of the Hippo to their owner's hand and an opponent may draw a card.

Also, I actually think Phelddagrif's Embrace is a better name.

I think that Questing Pheldagrif's abilities would make a better set, because that return to hand ability is awkward and terrible:

G: Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn. Target opponent puts a 1/1 green Hippo creature token into play.
W: Enchanted creature gains protection from black and from red until end of turn. Target opponent gains 2 life.
U: Enchanted creature gains flying until end of turn. Target opponent may draw a card.

I also like Pheldagrif's Embrace.

That's a valid point, but "Return enchanted creature and ~this~ to their owners’ hands" is not without precedent:

I know, but it's a really bad ability. You're either spending WUUG to bounce their creature, or WUUG+casting cost to save and replay yours. Protection from Black and Red won't stop all removal efforts, but it does help a lot, and costs so much less that it becomes closer to being actually playable.

Hmm...My only problem with making it questing pheldagriff is the trample. If the creature is already getting +2/+2, I don't like it pumping itself more, makes the card less versatile.

Also, Questing Pheldagriff's ability set I feel would be less usable in limited. Being able to save your creauture with the bounce ability is quite nice, and though it's not awesome, it is a good ability on an already versatile card.

On the other hand, who else likes Questing's set more than the one I have now?

Alright, I agree. "Enchanted creature gains protection from black and from red until end of turn. Target opponent gains 2 life" is much cleaner and much more in line with what this should do with a white activation cost.

Also, I see that the Oracle text for Questing Phelddagrif (unlike the Oracle text for Phelddagrif) targets an opponent when it uses its ability...

You don't need flying and trample for evasion--that's just redundant. Pumping is a very useful ability, too (far more so than trample!).
