What: 10 proxie Type 1 Tournament, Swiss pairings with cut to finals

Where: Collegeville Cards & Games Located NW of Philadelphia, near King of Prussia

When: Saturday July 23, 2005
Deck Registration begins at 11:00 AM  Round 1 begins at 12 Noon.

Philadelphia/King of Prussia/Pottstown area has a steadily growing T1 community. The hope is that his can be a 25-40 person tournament (or more is always welcome, there is no limit) to use as a springboard to bigger tournaments with more and better prizes.

Entry is $20.00 per person.  $15 if you pre-register (see link below)
It is a flat 10 proxie max. You may not purchase additional proxies.

Come support your local T1 community in the Philadelphia Region.
You may PM me for additional information or call the store (ask for the store owner, Mike Smith...that is not me): (610) 454-7297

If it helps, we're conveniently located in the same parking lot as Dominos Pizza!!!! Yeah, great food readily available.

Store Location:
4011 Germantown Pike
Collegeville, PA. 19426

Prize Structure: 1st place: English Legends Mana Drain
2-4: Guaranteed Prizes. What you get and  how much depends on attendence
5-8: Depends on attendence.

If 20 or more people attend, 2nd place will receive their choice of 4 dual lands. With the skyrocketing price of duals, the 2nd place prize could easily be worth as much as the 1st place prize.

Finally a T1 scene in Philly.  I figured it would never come once the Exton WOTC store closed down.  I'll try to be there.

You pre-register for this event at 1Playerplace

All participants who pre-register will be entered into a drawing for a Foil DCI Ball Lightning.

Also, mods, I apologize for the double post (the store owner posted this as well and its a bit further down the page now). We had a communications mix up.   This thread has all of the info players will need, though.

Is Philly such a desert?
I figure Superhero city isn't much further than across the river, and other people put up tournaments in central NJ.

Thought it was time to bump this as we are getting closer to the tournament time. We're getting a nice response to this. Many local players are going to be showing up. As well, we've had interest from NJ, DE, Stroudsburg and Exton.  Should be a great tournament with great prizes.

Keep in mind, the $20 entry fee means better prizes for 2nd on down than you'll find other places that charge $10-$15 and provide you with simple store credit or a few olderforeign  packs where you usually end up getting crap out of them.

Pre-registration fee (see link above) cuts your entry fee to $15. Money is not due at time of pre-reg. It is due day of tournament. (Its, $15, despite what the link above says).

Tournament is only a week away.  We're preparing for a nice turnout. I've been contacted by multiple groups of players and even have a commitment from a New York player.

Should be a good tournament.  We'll also be announcing our second tournament at this first one. At the moment, the local meta is kind of unknown, so be prepared for anything. But when these are tourneys are as successful as they appear to be, it won't take long for a local meta to develop.

One slight correction to Greg's post on the 2nd place prize. If we get the 20 player minimum, unfortunately it won't be a players choice on the duals, it should read our choice. Sorry for the confusion.

The tournament is just a few short days away. We have a ton of people already pre-registered. This will be a good one.
