Some people may feel this card is broken, and i know affinity is probably over with. However, I like this card because it gives a very old school flavor to the newer decks with a Mana Crypt/Vault feel you know? I'm new to mana drain and this may get deleted but i think i followed the guidelines somewhat right. Anyways, if i haven't, would someone let me know ?


OK, upon review of my first comment left I tend to agree. I think I got a little ahead of myself and rethought it. This is a Thran Dynamo basically. the 5 cc with affinity allows it to be played much faster, however, the untaping effect slows down the amount of overall production gained from it. Not to mention it is Legendary, so that is also a set back. It seems like this card could find a home in a deck somewhere, I'm just not 100% sure where.

Hello, and welcome to the forums. Since you're new, you get cut some slack, but you should know that your post is nowhere near up to our standards. Please check out the rules, paying special attention to the sections about a current wording post and how you need to have some explanation of your idea accompanying the actual card. Tell us why you think this would be a good card to make, or how you came up with the idea, or maybe how you expect players to try and use it.

Academy and 2 Moxen and Sol Ring makes 6 mana on turn 1
This and 2 Moxen and Sol Ring makes 6 mana on turn 1 but you lose the artifacts. That is pretty much a best case scenario. That looks to be on the right side of broken (i.e. strong but not wrong). Wizards have priced artifacts that generate 3 coloured mana at 5 so 3 colourless at 4 seems reasonable. Affinity for artifacts appears to add 2 mana to the casting cost.

Having said that, I can't figure out why anyone would want to play with this? For 4 mana you can sacrifice your artifacts for more gain, and that 6cc puts off early combo engines. The name seems more in line with a mini Ball Lightning-generator rather than a Mana Vault variant.
