Double Agency
{R}{B}
Enchant Creature

Enchanted creature can't block.
At the beginning of the upkeep of enchanted creature’s controller, Double Agency deals 2 damage to that player.

Wanderlust-like cards have always fascinated me.  Most of them aren't good enough to be real win conditions (except Festering Wound) so they never see much play. I figured that one way of making such a card more playable would be to add functionality to it. In this case, the functionality is that the creature can't block. It fits well with the colours as well as with the theme of the spell.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

The most recent of those was printed in Planeshift. Of course, you could also point out Contaminated Bond, which has a similar effect. Nonetheless, I think that this card is sufficiently different from all of those that it is justifiably printable.

Shouldn't this card read 'Enchanted creature has'At the beginning of your upkeep, ~this~ deals 2 damage to you.' ?

It depends on whether I want the creature or the enchantment to be dealing the damage. Both are viable options. In this case, I opted for the enchantment to deal the damage.

I think I would like it better for the creature to do the damage, for two reasons, both of which stem from the question, "What color is the damage?"

1. Flavor: when you have a double agent, it's the creature itself which is hurting you. It is still the hand of the soldier which does the harm, not his evil overlord.
2. Mechanically: If you have a Sphere of Law out and a Serra Angel, it matters greatly to me that the Serra is doing you damage instead of the enchantment. I would like some way for a black/red deck to evade such color-based damage prevention. We wouldn't want to do this too often but once would be nice.

Good arguments. The creature will do the damage. I used a hybrid of the old wording and the proposed wording, just so that this doesn't have the old "Sleeper Agent" problem -- "Why would I give my opponent a 3/3 creature that deals 2 damage to me?" I think it's even less clear when a creature enchantment is involved.
