In a big trade I just did I asked a guy to throw in a pack-crimped foil rare along with the deal, is this worth anything? The rare is Words of Wind so it's not really a good one, but still. I've searched all over and can't seem to find any site that has info about this. I know there's a bunch of you in this community who have ridiculously pimped collefctions... so you might know?

Thx

Its not real common, but there are alot of crimped cards out there. When I used to play extended there was a guy that collected crimped and miscut foil rares, but mostly unless you find a real specific collector its not really worth anything more.

I traded my crimped Beta Time Twister (N/M (not including the crimp) also with no whitening in the crimp) for 3x Bazaars of Bagdad!
I thought it was a great deal, but a lot of other people told me I could of got a lot more for it.
This was about 7 months ago now ...

I was really happy with the deal at the time, and now that I look at it, I am still happy with the deal.
In my eyes, the card was damaged, and the crimp wasn't something very significant.
But the other person really wanted it and collected crimped cards.
So all is fair if both parties are happy with the deal! Smile

EDIT:

So basically, to answer your question ...
It's value will depend based on the person looking for those cards ...
Gunslinga off MOTL is who I traded mine too ...
You might want to consider giving him a PM because he collects crimped cards ...

If you don't write a book or go way off topic then its not a valid TMD post.

Let me step in here...

There are three kinds of cards with crimps.

1. A crimp along the top or bottom (Very Common). A card like this that would usually suck (like this card) is worth about 2.00 bucks. Cards that don't suck with crimp are usually worth 4-5 dollars more than there non-crimped friends.

2. A Beta Crimped card. (Rare) A Beta crimped card fetches a premium in the misprint crowd.

3. A Sideways crimped card. (Extremely Rare) I've only seen two of these, and I got 'my asking price' on both of them. These are worth a bunch.

Hope it helped.
