So the top 8 was:
1-TFK Gifts
2-TFK Gifts
3-TFK Gifts
4-Shop Aggro
5/8-Stax
5/8-Meandeck Gifts?
5/8-Oath?
5/8-?

(as of posting SCG doesn't have the top 8 listed)
There were two stax and one U/W fish rounding out the top 8, with no MD gifts.

c'mon people, stop with the whole chicken little thing that everybody makes fun of Vintage players for doing.  As long as there is an interest in playing Vintage events, (which there is), T.O.s will happily make money off us by hosting tournaments.

OK, we figure 56 people, at $30 per person.  That's $1680.  Assuming Starcity buys its power dirt-cheap, at 100 Twister, 300 Lotus, and 200 anything else, they would STILL lose money.  This isn't the end of the world, but it's not something they're gonna just shrug off.

It seems to me that interest in Vintage is waning.  Prerelease or not, only pulling 56 people in Richmond is pretty pathetic.  It's hard to want to put on a tournament when you can't accurately predict the attendance.

What the hell were SCG thinking running a p9 at the same time as a prerelease?

They scheduled SCG Chicago at the same time as Pro Tour LA. One less Atog at this SCG, I guess.
Actually, the PT got moved to that date long after we had scheduled it.

I have to hand it to SCG, it was another extremely well done event.  I played in the Team Sealed event and had a blast w/ the new set...not enough to get me to play more (beyond States this year I'm in semi retirement beyond refining Tendrils based combo in Prismatic on MTGO) but I'll definitely come to all the events they have in town.

Please save the chicken little stuff for the next B/R thread plz. Razz

I wouldn't worry about star city taking a loss on the power tournament.  The 2000 dollars they lost in power for the tournament, they made up 10x in card stock they bought off players all day at dirt cheap prices.  They wouldn't keep doing these tournies in richmond if they weren't turning a profit at the end of the day.

Will decklist be posted?

I'll receive the decklists tomorrow and have them back to SCG by Thursday.  All 57 lists will be up shortly after that.
