Okay I have a question; in Aaron Forsythe's column today he asks:
" Do you ever rearrange the cards in your graveyard during a game?
Yes.
No."

Per the Comprehensive Rules:
"217.4b Each graveyard is kept in a single face-up pile. A player can examine the cards in any graveyard at any time but can't change their order."

Am I missing something here, or wouldn't rearranging your grave be cheating?
I know the 'yard order is important and relivent for multiple cards i.e. Krovikan Horror, Volrath's Shapeshifter etc...

Yes, clearly changing the order of the cards in your graveyard during a game is cheating.  Maybe he is gathering data to write an article about subtle things that people do without realizing that affect the game state.

But yeah, it would be pretty good if one were allowed to change the order of cards in their graveyard when an opponent had a Phryxean Furnace in play.

That's why they stopped printing cards that care about graveyard order. The last one was in...Stronghold I think (Volrath's Shapeshifter).

The problem with cards that care about the graveyard order is that they require perfect play to work, and many people simply don't pay enough attention for that. When putting Wrath in the graveyard before the killed creatures distorts the way the game plays out, something is wrong.

However if the players in your tournament don't:

It is a nightmare for judges at FNM events.

That is probably the reason many don't know how to stack their graveyard properly. If WotC never printed anything that used graveyard order since you have been playing the game you probably never took the time to learn it. And lets face it if people playing Standard can know the difference between "At End of Turn" and "Until End of Turn" then why is keeping your graveyard in order such a chore that they need to completely avoid making any new cards that would use it?
