Djinn Stronghold
Land
T: Add 3 to your mana pool
When Djinn Stronghold is tapped for mana target opponent gains control of it.
Everything comes and goes.

Mishra's Workshops are becoming harder to come by, but Wizards wouldn't even begin to think about reprinting something of the like without a significant downside. I think this one could work.

You do realise it will either be used to power something so insane that the opponent will either not get a turn, or won't be able to actually use the downside of this to its advantage, or it will be a craprare. I think it's the former, but in non-t1 formats it's probably the latter.

Also, I'd compare this to Dark Ritual or Mana Vault sooner than to Workshop.

This is ridiculously powerful, and what's more you should read the forum rules.

At 2 mana this might be do-able (City of Traitors is almost certainly better). 3 mana is asking for trouble.

City of Traitors was banned in Extended for being too powerful.

No it wasn't. You're thinking of Ancient Tomb.

Drawbacks

2 damage>>sac a land>> giving an opponent a land

Tomb>>CoT> this (at least the 2 mana version)

Otherwise - list of things that can give you 3 mana on turn 1 that are balanced:
Academy
Lotus
Workshop
LED
this at 3 mana

With Storm Cauldron this word be sickening....

I know this won't happen in a tournament, but if my opponent has Chaos Orb in his hand while I'm controlling his turn from a Mindslaver, who flips the card if I force him to play it and activate it?
