All that's missing is teeth mark in the corner and a little brown streak going up the middle.  Where do these people find these things?  Please people... take care of your cards!

For anyone who doesn't realize, that's a Collector's Edition card with the gold paint scraped off.

First of all, no card gets wear like that naturally. I've seen some seriously worn cards, but it's always pretty uniform, unless we're talking about creases or tears. Those are scrapes, not wear. That damage was entirely intentional.

Note also what parts of the card have been scraped off--the back borders (which even from the scan you can see have been sharpied over), and the back middle (where it would say "Collector's Edition" in gold). The front is scraped up only enough to be barely consistent with the back.

Also, the corners are irregular--which, given the form of wear the card suffered (scraping, not water damage, not heavy play), strongly suggests that these were trimmed corners. Remember, CE cards have square edges. That and the gold are the only things differentiating them from normal cards.

Finally, I just have to reiterate. That kind of scraping DOES NOT HAPPEN TO CARDS UNLESS SOMEONE IS TRYING TO PASS A CE AS REAL. I've seen that *exact* kind of damage several times, all on CE cards. Never on anything else. The card is a fake.

I agree with Jacobe, though interesting a MTG dealer with such high feedback is bidding on it.  Perhaps he should be sent a memo.

I've seen cards like that sold before.  It's obviously a mutilated Collector's Edition card, and the guy bidding on it is clueless.

Also, the seller's name is a dead giveaway.

hood_man O_O sounds vaguely ominous.

Oh No, I just paid 250 US for a Collector's Edition Lotus! Sad Sad
[/sarcasm]

Why would anyone want that?
I believe that buying good condition cards is a little bit better cause if the game goes flop, at least you have good condition cards lol
