Will enough people be interested in a large tournament in Chattanooga, TN?

BIG VINTAGE TOURNAMENT STARTING SOON WITH YOUR SUPPORT NEEDED

I'm looking to start up a big Vintage tournament, held every two or three months with a Mox as a MINIMUM prize. 
Lotuses will be accessible in the future if enough support and enthusiasm is shown.

However, My question is:  Will enough of ya'll show up to this tournament if it's in Chattanooga?

The price of power has risen dramatically in the past year, and it's beginning to be unviable to host $20 tournies if people don't show up.  I don't want to host a Mox Sapphire tourney, and have 16 people show up to this thing.  Judges and a venue are expensive as well, and I definitely need to know if enough people are interested in this for it to be a possibility.

Please let me know so that I can get started.

Edit:  BTW, I didn't mention, but the tourney will probably be 12 free proxies, with each additional proxy FIFTY CENTS ($.50) extra per proxy. 

So, for instance, if you wanted to proxy your new super tech deck, using the P9, 4 Bazaars, 4 Drains, and 4 Workshops, but had everything else, it would cost you:  $20 dollars for the entrance fee, as well as $4.50 extra for the 9 extra proxies that you have in your deck (as you get 12 free), coming to a total of $24.50.  Not shabby at all for a Mox, I'd say.

If you wanted to proxy all your 75 cards, it'd cost you 57.50.

I'm considering going up to 15 free, though.

Guys, I'm talking huge opportunity here for a PRIME event starting up in the South.  If enough people show enormous support, we can do this tournament MONTHLY, which would be a dream come true.  I want Chattanooga to be the defining metagame of the South.  We talk about the New England meta and Midwest meta, but where's the South? 
We don't have a HUGE representative tourney.

Don't let this go away, I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I want it to happen.

Wow...yes is the answer. Of course, the farther East you want to make this, the better. But I will be keeping track of this development.

Fuck yes. I live in Missouri, and might be able to make that. Waterbury is just too far away, and I was busy for Chicago.

It can be whenever most people will show up, whether it be at the beginning middle, or end of a month, whatever.  I just want a vibrant type 1 scene down south.  Chattanooga is right off 75, which is right off 81.  I could make it farther East, but I'm currently living in Chattanooga, and it would be easier for me to find a good, respectable, attractive venue within the city rather than driving two hours to Atlanta or something.

I mean, I want this to become like a regular huge event - I'm talking Lotus/Mox/Mox prizes eventually.  If I get enough people just to say, "Yes, I want to come," then I'll start doing it MONTHLY.  But honestly, I need like 50 people to come if there's gonna be big prizes.

I would absolutely love to have a monthly 100-man tourney, but that's very ambitious, even for me.

Get some people to post on here saying that they'll come if they really will so this can happen.  I'm not gonna spend 300 bucks on a Mox, just to have 20 people show up, you know?  I'll throw in an exception for the first one though, which could happen in as little as a month. I'd be fine with 30 people, just as long as I can get a _regular_ crowd of 30, once everyone sees how well the tournament is run, and what a nice venue I'm getting, I'm sure the numbers will start increasing, thereby increasing the size of the prizes as well.

If we eventually get it to a 12-times a year tourney, which I would really love to do, that would give so many more opportunities for people to win Lotuses.  I want to keep the fee at a flat $20, so everyone and their brother can get in, and I'm willing to work with people even on that.  I just want a regular tournament in my area, for everyone.  But in order for this dream to come true, I need people to say, "YES!  I AM INTERESTED, please do this and I will show up."

Depending on the date, I can say that I will probably come. There are likely to be more players from Atlanta, but I don't know if the Raleigh crew will want to make such a long trip.

A regular tournament around here would be amazing.

Really, if you have friends that will show up as well, put yourself and your friends down for however many of you would regularly come.  I don't need 30 different TMD handles, just 30 different "Yes, I am positive that I would be able to make it, as well as two of my friends."

I'll have pre-registration as well.

30 people is not alot to ask for a Mox, is it?

I do need regular attenders for this thing, and if you can regularly come, it's more important than anything that you tell me so I can get this thing off the ground as soon as possible.  Also, if you don't mind, please put in what times of the month, etc, would be best for you and whatnot.

Most every tournament would be a Saturday at 1-2 PM.  (But the time could change if it would benefit more people.)

Chattanooga is close to alot of large cities, like Atlanta and Knoxville, and is pretty much right off 81.

But once again, this is all just a gleam in an eye.  This can't happen unless I get people to tell me, "Yes, I'll come."  So please do if it looks like you'll come on a regular basis.

I think the tournament definitely needs to be earlier in the day. Even with only 30 people, rounds are going to go to time and most people will likely have several hours to drive home. Something around 1PM is a lot better.

Anything over a month from now is good for me.

That's fine.  One of the things I've always liked about Vintage is that the tournaments can start later into the day, but you are right, 1 or 2 would be better considering people's drives home, (which I forgot about).  I'll change that.

I'm from Atl and I'd probably come up, and so would some other people from down here.  I'd prefer it was during the summer, because I go to college in Virginia and that drive is probably unfeasible.

Would Sunday be better for most of ya'll, or worse?

I had figured Saturday would be a better time, because people might have church the next day, and whatnot.  Moreover, you'd have to go back to school, or work, or whatever the very next day.  But if Sunday works better for ya'll, it works better for me.

So so far I got about 10 people (including the 4 or 5 that bdg4life would be bringing).  That's not enough yet, sadly...

Anusien, tell your friends about this tournament.  How many aside you would be coming up?  What's our Atlanta meta look like?  *grins*
