mIRC troubles

Ok, so I just registered on mIRC, but I can't seem to find any of these thriving magic forums that are out there. I've tried the basic install instructions, and also looking around on the net, but I was wondering if someone would be willing to walk me through it (ie, tell me which servers to go on, which channels, how to set up a basic friends list or whatever).

I'd really appreciate it, guys. I'm AIM-able as neomanceristaken, and my mIRC name is evanmartyr (but obviously that's a bad way to get ahold of me right now).

For the Manadrain's IRC channels, connect to EFNET and go to #themanadrain and #themanaleak (the latter is the games room).
