Forget literature - I just found the best book ever.
A friend of mine just gave a an awesome work by Doctor Metropolis entitled 'How To Be A Superhero - Your Complete Guide To Thwartng The Forces Of Evil'. It covers such issues as:
- Secret Headquarters: Buy or rent?
- Finding a suitable arch nemesis
- Does this cape make me look fat: designing a costume that says no to evil but yes to fashion.
It opens with a brilliant questionnaire that lets you self-test your superhero possibilities with such questions as:
1. I have the ability to fly.
O stronly disagree O somewhat disagree O no opinion O somewhat agree O strongly agree
(...)
14. I frequently find that I can move objects, such as the state of Nebraska, with my mind.
O stronly disagree O somewhat disagree O no opinion O somewhat agree O strongly agree
It even starts its chapters with useful quotation such as:
"I truly believe that inside each of us is this extraordinary person, and that to release him or her, we need only to have the good fortune to get caught in a potentially disfiguring and almost certainly lethal industrial accident." -- Docter Metropolis
I encourage everyone who ever thought about fighting crime (or just read a lot of comic books) to buy this!
