Before Fetchlands were unleashed to the market B2B was able to handle even the toughest mult colored decks with ease at the cost of locking a couple of your lands too like Library or perhaps even a wasteland. The cost was small but the price was big indeed.
Now that everybody is using Fetchlands, most of the people have reduced the number of Duals, or even Painlands they play and tend to run 5-6 Fetchlands alond with additional basic lands.
That means that B2B has become nowdays even less powerfull than it was some while ago. Has it just become an annoying card with some minor potential to disrupt your opponent?

Even with fetch running rampant, B2B can still screw ones manabase pretty bad. For example: Staxx not being able to use all of it's lands, Dragon not able to use it's Bazaars.

You are probably right when you say it's become less powerfull than it was before, but it can still rip up decks. But it won't be winning any major tournaments if that's what you mean  Smile

What do you mean by that? Should a MUC deck run B2B main or SB when going to a tourney?

Personally, I would still run 2 mainboard. The chance of getting paired agians Staxx/Dragon/other decks that still use mostly nonbasics is pretty big. Then, if you get paired agianst Gifts, you can side them out for Gifts hate. If you get paired against one of the 'nonbasic decks' you can side 1 or 2 more in.

You'll have to tweak the perfect number of maindeck Back to Basics, according to your metagame.

If B2B is weak, MUC is weak.  B2B is the deck's bomb; if that doesn't outright win a lot of games, you are far better off splashing for Yawg Will, Welders and other off-color winners.

The last time I played mono-u in a tournament, I main-decked four and...

-Back to Basics was indispensible against Dragon (I didn't play any other Bazaar decks)

-Back to Basics evened the playing field against Stax, taking away their MWS tempo advantage.  Then things got reedokyoolus once Energy Flux got sided in.

-Back to Basics neutralized just enough Mishra's Factory attackers to save the day against Fish.

-Back to Basics didn't do shit against most Mana Drain decks, and often got sided out.  I found that Chalice or even Powder Keg did more to disrupt their mana development.

-Back to Basics got me fudge packed against Oath.  I'm currently entertaining the idea of U/r with Blood Moon to fix this.

The second part is kind of off topic, but yeah.  If you're cutting B2B, you've no reason to be playing monoblue.  Period.
