[Report] Philly Area Workshop Event 1/7/06

The event had a good turnout of 25 with the decks breaking down as follows:

8 Oath
5 Stacks
2 Tendrils
1 U/W Control
1 U/W Fish
1 U Fish
1 U/G Madness
1 G/W Control
1 B Control
1 U/B Control
1 R/W/U Control
1 Life
1 R/B/U Burn


With a good mixture of decks, the Metagame was interesting although Oath was the dominant deck and it was Oath vs. Oath in the final match. The final match went to 3 games with the player who drew Oath first having the advantage. The winner received a Mishra's Workshop, 2nd place took home 4 Dual Lands, 3rd received a $20 table credit and 4th $10.

The player base for our events continues to grow, and we look forward to offering these events on a monthly basis with the prize structure becoming better as the player numbers continue to grow. It was encouraging to see many new players for this event and that players came from PA, NJ, & DE. We even had a 12 year old who was playing in his first ever tournament and finishing a respectable 21st.
