Vintage Community,

Some of you may remember a certain tournament in New York from February earlier this year in which the top eight guaranteed p9 prizes were not actually given out, and instead were promised to be mailed to the respective winners.  There's been a lot of doubt as to whether or not this was a legitimate promise, and in spite of written documentation, verbal agreement, and an unexpired time limit, there was certainly a lot of doubt for those of us who won.

That doubt is removed.

I'm writing this not only to report that David Amrod (bendybubble) kept his word, but did so in a way exemplary of TOs.  Obviously his mistakes speak for themselves.  He was overly ambitious, and planned poorly.  He paid the price with ridicule from the community, a huge loss of financial support after having purchased the prizes this month, and his tournament scene is obviously never going to be the same.

The condition of our prizes has been, thus far, exceptional.  Given that most prize support cards are pretty beat up, the EX-ish power that I've seen or seen scans of is notably of higher quality than most prizes.

Furthermore, the real motivation for me to write this letter to the community:  David Amrod made it up to me personally by doing something only a lunatic or a man truly sorry for his actions would do--  I received my Black Lotus, and my Time WALK.  This is obviously a step up from Lotus/Twister, and one I greatly appreciate.

In short:  I request those of you who are still upset with David or plan on never supporting his venues again will reconsider.  Obviously mistakes were made, but is it not only human to try to make up for those mistakes and learn from them?  I'm not asking for your opinion to change, just to consider the option.  Consider my circumstance, where David saw fit not only to give me the prizes I'd earned in high quality condition, but with a considerable upgrade to make up for the wait and the doubt that I had sown in my mind.

To the best of my knowledge, each and every single one of the t8 has received their prize as of today, if not sooner.  Feel free to chime in with any thoughts.

That's really awesome of this guy.  It would be easy to say "Fuck them, after all they bashed me, I'm not paying, or I'll send them the shittiest, cheapest power I can find."  He didn't.  As far as I'm concerned, he's earned the good reputation he used to have.

I'm not really sure what to say that I haven't already, but here goes.

Dave is a lot of things, but one thing he isn't, is a cheat.  I'm glad in the vintage community's eyes, and especially Kowal's, who stood the most to lose in this situation, he's proven himself again as a standup guy.  As someone who's been going to his tournaments since I was 13, it was devastating(but understandable) to see the lashout caused by this, and I'm glad now that the dust has settled and everyone got what they won.  I believe he still plans to end his TO career, but it's nice to know he'll be remebered as doing the right thing, not as making a mistake.

I placed 6th in the tournament, and Saturday recieved a VG UL Mox Ruby signed by Dan Frazier.  Mike Herbig (herbig) also recieved his Mox Pearl, in similar condition and signed.  After 3 and a half months, I'm glad to say this tournament is finally over.

Bullshit. If this was an "awsome guy" he would have gone to the bank the day of the tourney... AND me and everybody else wouldnt have to wait 3 MONTHS to get a "guaranteed" prize structure.

That being said the Mox Jet that I got in the mail today was in HORRIBLE condition! HORRIBLE... beat to hell... warn edges... and the back is so scuffed that it looked like it was run over by a lawn mower...

I am glad he came through... but knowing that my mox jet's resale is probably going to be $225 instead of the $300+ I was expecting from at LEAST a mox that could be graded a 6-7 instead of a 3-4.

I have absolutely no forgiveness, and would still be extremely hard pressed to go back to Baldswinville.

I'm not impressed, to say the least.

My Mox Sapphire is supposedly in the mail back in Ohio (home).  Coincidentally, I moved out to NYC on the weekend before everyone received their power.  If it had come on the promised date (May 18th) or even this past Saturday, I would have been pleased.   But here I am 500 miles away from home.  I would have to travel that distance and back just to pick up a card that could possibly be in crap condition.  Also, where were the promised "tracking numbers?"  That last e-mail saying the power was coming almost sounded too good.  I waited essentially an additional two weeks only to be hassled even further.  DUBYA TEE EFF!?

To hear that people are receiving their power is semi-comforting to me, however, I'm probably going to have to wait another month before I see it.  People, don't praise him just yet.  The whole thing isn't over until all 9 pieces have been claimed.  My contract is still a contract and so far it has been broken.  Until I see my piece of power, I will not rest easy.

Thank you for all of that David Amrod.

Request the tracking numbers if you haven't received them already.  I got mine with no hassle.

Its much easier for you to be possitive when you got a twister upgraded to a time walk that was in good condition. Frankly, I believe that the timetwister you could have gotten would have been worth more then the Jet I did get.

Even though they eventually came... The pure fact that we didnt have the ability to look at the cards on site makes a huge difference. If I would have known that the jet was in such awful conditon I might of taken a exellent condition mox anything instead. With power condition means everything when it comes to resale value in most situations.
