Anyone remember this obscure little number? If you look through Odyssey block, and in particular Judgment, you'll see quite a few cards which are made better by the opponent having an empty graveyard. I've had the idea of building a deck around that theme on hold for around 2 years, but with a few new cards I think I can- finally begin to make it work.
The deck:
// Lands
4 Underground Sea
4 Polluted Delta
3 Cabal Pit
4 Underground River
4 Swamp
3 Dimir Aqueduct
// Creatures
4 Withered Wretch
3 Quicksilver Dragon
-Quicksilver Dragon is a little-used but very strong blue fattie. Keiga and Kokusho would be the obvious alternatives, but Quicksilver is still an excellent creature. His added bonus is that he can be bought for about 1/4 of the price of his Kamigawa buddies

.
- Cards which like empty graveyards:
4 Mist of Stagnation
4 Gravestorm
4 Lost in Thought
4 Web of Inertia
- Web of Inertia is easier to break through than I would like, but it's the only card available. Lost in Thought is rock solid playing at being Arrest for around 90% of the time, and is crappy for the remaining 10%. For 1U, though, it's not too bad.
-Cards which make graveyards empty
4 Scrabbling Claws
4 Leyline of the Void
- I couldn't have come up with many better fantasy cards for this deck than Leyline of the Void. If it comes out of your opening hand all of the empty graveyard cards suddenly become incredably unfair. If it comes out later, it's still strong.
-Misc others:
3 Mental Note
4 Mana Leak
- Grip of Amnesia might look like a synergistic replacement for Mana Leak, but it really is too easy for the opponent to just ignore, even when you're aiming at an empty graveyard.
- Mental Note is used because it sometimes happens that you have trouble breaking out from under your own Mists. It could be Brainstorm, Impulse, Serum Visions or whatever else you can think of if that proves unnecessary.
So, any thoughts? I've yet to acquire the various obscure rares this deck wants, so if you have any suggestions, it would be good to hear them
