I'll continue working on the 'In the Know' series as long as there is demand (Which I doubt will stop anytime soon), but what else can I write about that you'd be intrested in?

I'm still waiting for that Hungry Hungry Hippos article.  I'm sure Lunar is too.  That lacking, I've been learning a lot from the 'In the know' series, and I'd like them more often.  Perhaps with analysis on more than just how to play blue decks?  Also, maybe some articles on how to properly metagame?  I'm personally terrible at that, and I'm sure others would like some practice and theory.

Analysis on different Fish decks. Right now there is no consensus even on which colors to use, not to talk about the right creature/disruption base. Is it so metagame dependant, or is there still certain guidelines on building a Fish deck that can wipe the house?

Another take could be analysis on various hate cards that people use to answer certain metagame threats: Swords, Kataki, Tormod's, Null Rod, Pithing Needle, Meddling Mage, Extract and so on. What works and what not, and why?

I really enjoy your work and one part of Magic that needs to be talked about more is the sideboard. People can argue what cards belong in the sideboards of different decks all day, but when it comes right down to it I see the top players struggle to choose what cards come out of their decks for these cards they agonized to add to the board.

In particular I think many people could benefit from how a deck such as gifts/CS (standard not burning slaver build)... Should sideboard for the mirror match, or against even stax/fish...

One very interesting thing was a conversation with (Brian Demars I think, and Andy Probasco)... Me and Andy almost always sideboard out Mystical/Vampiric Tutor post board games, and almost 100% always when we are on the draw. While Brian Demars does not. He found the idea interesting but obviously wasnt sold on it sinse he had not tested it before.

Another insite into sideboarding is that me, Rich Shay, Probasco, Outlaw, etc. Have been boarding out FoW (for REB) vs. Fish for well over a year now. FoW is a 2 for 1... and no card in fish is worth a 2 for 1 accept possibly  null rod... This has not caught on, but if it did I think Fish would be a much better matchup for alot of decks.

Small insights like this I believe would make a great article that could really help people. While an analysis of fish is something that I feel gets shoved down peoples throats all the time, and would appeal to a very select group of people.

Thanks for any consideration and good luck with your articles,

Kyle L.

Just to clarify, I board out some Drains against Fish, and all drains against Meandeck Ichorid. I've never cut a Force in boarding ever -- I'm that afraid of Null Rod and Chalice.

I've been working on that for like a week now.
Right now I have 17 typed pages on WU fish card choices.  Each card has an individual rateing and a summary of when and why the card is used.  Now I've just started working on how to put a deck together.  Even just WU fish alone is a massive undertakeing.  There's just so much that you "could" include in a fish deck.

Lastly I'll talke about how to compete in tournements of different scales.  And talk about meta-game, pairings, 50 min rounds, sideboarding, and play mistakes, and possibly some "questionable" opening hands.

I agree with boarding out drains in some matchups, but never forces.   all 4 drains came out against ichorid in richmond, as there is nothing to drain.  I've tried all sorts of boarding  with gifts vs CS.  I tried siding 2 drains for REB and that didnt work.  There are plenty of spells worth a 2 for 1 trade against fish.  What do you do after you tinker and they STP your coloss, REB the STP?  if force backup wins you the game, I will take the disadvantage in cards all day.

On a side note, people activating mindslavers again makes me want to quit magic.  I can already see the spring Waterbury as a repeat of January 05 where everyone played slaver.

First:  I looooove boarding out forces against Fish.  I've been doing this ever since Andy mentioned it to me around a year ago.  I'll be explaining why it's so hot in the gifts article that I'm quite nearly done with.

Second:  Verbal warning issued to myself for being off topic.  To the rest of you:  back on topic, slackers.[/color]

Personally I'd like to see you address more "aggro" possibilities in Vintage.  It's been a niche in Vintage writing that you've mainly been the only one to ever try to fill, and I personally have always found your takes on the decks that are considered "aggro" to be enlightening.
