Morticulture {G} Enchantment , Sacrifice a land: Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand. , Sacrifice a creature: Return target land card from your graveyard to your hand. *** This card was totally born out of the name. I was trying to find a name for this card when the name "Morticulture" popped into my head. It didn't quite fit that card, but it really evoked an image of something that the Golgari might be up to, so I made this card from the name, instead. (Looking through some posts of mine in the CCF, it occurs to me that I must really like the "morti" prefix.) *** Current Wording:
Morticulture
 {G} Enchantment
, Sacrifice a land: Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
, Sacrifice a creature: Return target land card from your graveyard to your hand.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

I like it. It has the interesting tricks of Golgari Guildmage's reanimation ability that amused me as well as a good deal of flexiblity. I really think you hit a good combination of BG wanting to use all of its resources to the best it can: Squandered Resources, Lake of the Dead, Life from the Loam, Dark Heart of the Wood.
I really feel like the sacrifice a land ability needs to cost more. There are five enchantments that return creatures to hand. The relevant ones are: [card]Malevolent Awakening[/card], [card]Phyrexian Reclamation[/card], [card]Tortured Existence[/card] Also, [card]Haunted Crossroads[/card] is relevant in that for the same cost, it does a worse ability. I'd bring down the casting cost of the card, and bring the sac a land to get a creature up to 1C. Also, why do you have sac a land + G, and sac a creature + B as the costs? It feels like there is more strength in the card by keeping the resource that it cares about with the card, ie:
Morticulture - 1BG Enchantment 1G, Sacrifice a land: Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand. B, Sacrifice a creature: Return target land card from your graveyard to your hand.

The mana cost is so high because this enchantment does double-duty over any of the enchantments that brings back creatures only. Also, addressing your concern that the ability that retutns creatures is too cheap, having a higher mana cost marginally offsets that.
I could be wrong, but I think that sacrificing a land is really a large cost for the ability to bring back a creature. It's better than Malevolent Awakening, but I would put it on par with Phyrexian Reclamation and weaker than Tortured existence and Haunted Crossroads.
I costed the abilities the way that I did because I wanted the activation cost to match up with what was being brought back -- green mana means you're getting a land back; black mana means you're getting a creature back. Then I just swapped what was sacrificed to make the card interesting.

Don't forget Strands of Night! Also Recurring Nightmare.
I like how with token generators, this is more than just switching. Sengir Autocrat now, Sengir Autocrat forever!

Too bad the tokens die when you sac the Autocrat. Deranged Hermit, however, seems quite nasty with this...

I guess I was thinking of making gigantic token armies, more so than just using tokens as raise deads. Heh. Hence the deranged hermit and all that.
