Hello, I have been playing magic for a while now and the other day I reliesed that I have been playing the same 6 decks since mirrodin and it's about time I learn how the other decks are played. I'm creating this thread in the hopes that people who are new to T1 will have a fighting chance. When I go to my local magic hang out not a single player will play with me because they are sick of getting beat even if I let them proxie.

Feel free to post A MAJOR DECK and how it should properly be played. Please do not post unless you have been to more then five tournies and have been placed in the top 40%. I really hope this will get more people into vintage, and what I don't want is debate about decks, if you feel a deck has been misrepresented please post your own deck list and stratagy. Thank you Pros for the help.

I will do an example post dedicated to and on the behaf of my demonic tutor J. Longo. The power winning man who showed me that T2 is for slow kids.

Tog (Longo's fav), thank you Longo, thanks for showing me how to play.

Keeping 1 land hands is very risky even when you have a brainsstorm.
Dont pull out undergrounds unless your going to use it right then and
there (duress, tutor) Dont pull out trops untill the end, or to cast
oxidise/naturalise.  If all you have in your opening hand is a trop and
an underground lead with the trop to bait a wasteland.  The decks
weakness is mana screw so make sure to play your islands first, unless
your have duress.

Use your gush wisely! It can have great synergy with wastelands,
brainstorms, and tog. You can float 2 mana with it too and then return
the lands incase your draw something good.  In your mainphase you can
gain an extra mana off it if you have no lands in your hand by floating
2, and then replaying a land.  Dont fuck yourself over by bringing 2
lands to your hand in a desperate search for FOW unless its absolutly
necessary to not loose.

Dont play a Tog if its too early, just pitch it to Force of will.

Pitch deep analysis to Tog to play it for 2 mana.

The deck has a ton of search, mabey ditch imperial seal for a maindeck
skeletal scrying.

This seems kinf of wacky, but mabey board 1 life from the loam.  The
dredge will load up your graveyard for easy kills and bigger yawg
wills, and it will give oyur card advantage with deep analysis.  Dredge
is also great with brainstorm.

alternate list:
-1 imperial seal
-2 gifts
+2 intuition
+1 deep analysis

Intuition for 3 deep analysis wrecks the control mirror.
Or intuition for 2 deep analysis and darkblast.
Or intuition for 3 tutors.
Or intuition for 3 force of will in response to a really bad spell.
Or intuition for time walk ancestral and lotus if holding yawgs will.

In response to ancestral cunning wish for misdirection Smile

Against stax swap 3 duress for 3 oxidise, or 2 oxidise 1 hurkyls.

For really fast kills side berserk in.

The stifle is in the board to wish for in case of maze of ith or some
other wacked out loophole.

Hope you like the deck

3 flooded strand
2 polluted delta
4 underground sea
2 tropical island
5 island
5 mox
1 sol ring
1 mana crypt
1 black lotus

3 psychatog
2 cunning wish
1 echoing truth
1 darkblast

4 force of will
4 mana drain
3 duress

4 brainstorm
1 demonic
1 vamp
1 mystical
1 merchant scroll
1 imperial seal
2 gifts ungiven

1 time walk
1 yawgmoths will

1 ancestral recall
1 gush
1 fact or fiction
2 deep analysis

SB
1 berserk
1 skeletal scrying
1 misdirection

2 hurkyls recall
1 diabolic edict

I apologize for addressing this post in emotional terms, but I'm afraid that I cannot help it.  Could you please tone down the arrogance of your posting?  It seems that you're a big fish in a very small pond, and view these forums as an extension of that.  A new, casual player is not going to spend every waking minute, or very likely no time at all, on TheManaDrain; it does not interest them.  Find a more competitive metagame.

Wait, what?  I don't see what the problem with this thread is at all... - jpmeyer[/color]
